Interação com os hóspedes: There's a wonderful caretaker on-site. He will welcome you and give you a brief orientation upon arrival. He lives across the road, so if you need anything, he is there. And feel free to pick his brain, (or mine), for tons of stuff to do in this amazing area!
This house and accompanying casita are just as described. Spacious, well-furnished, well-equipped in a peaceful, quiet location. The radiant floor heating and the solarium in "Q" make it very warm and comforting in the cold of winter. The bathroom is very nice with a great shower.
The kitchen is very well furnished with cookware, flatware, and attractive Fiesta dishware.
The location midway between Taos and Ocho Caliente is ideal. It's far enough from city lights to have a great view of the Milky Way at night, but close enough to enjoy the hot springs in Ocho Caliente and the activities in Taos in one day. We also enjoyed walking through the snow on the Retreat property. In three days, we saw rabbits, countless birds, and even a distant fox.

Peaceful property and well stocked home.
The property was fabulous for wandering and enjoying the peace and quiet. Lots of different bird species, nice trail, greenhouse herbs/veggies and good climbing trees (and tire swing) were a few of the things my family enjoyed. The Q was well stocked and equipped with a very nice refrigerator, stove, microwave, shower, wood burning stove etc. The Q was clearly a well thought of and well constructed dwelling. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will return.

Perfect winter family get away.
The Q and the Sticks Casita were perfect for our little winter vacation. My husband, 14 year old, 10 year old, and I went for walks in the snow, went sight-seeing at the Rio Grande Gorge, drove in to Taos twice, read, watched movies, and played board games. We had a fantastic time. The houses were perfect for us because everyone had their space and privacy when they wanted it. The Q was so energy-efficient and comfortable that, even though it never got above 30 degrees all week, we never even needed to build a fire. The view was beautiful. The house was comfortable. Elizabeth's communications before and upon our arrival were friendly and helpful. We highly recommend this rental.

The cleaning fee is subject to change based on the number of guests. Also, we don't allow pets but if you can't leave them at home there’s a great kennel where I board my dog in Carson, just 2 miles away en route. Please inquire.
