Don't get me wrong. If I could give 3.5 stars, I'd do it. This place could easily get 5, but we found a few faults when we arrived.
The good:
It's in a beautiful location, within convenient distance to stores, the Ski Resort, and some smaller towns that have good food. It's roomy, has almost everything you would need to move into for a week. Having a garden, fire place, fire pit (outside), grills, a full kitchen, and TV/internet, you think you'd have almost everything you need. The couch was new, and reportedly so was the upstairs carpeting.
The not-so-good:
We arrived, after reading the description and having been sent info from the homeowner regarding the place. It sounded to us like everything was there if we wanted to enjoy any of the amenities. We planned on grilling steaks the first night we were there. We got out to the screened in porch where they had the grill only to realize that the only bag of charcoal out there was completely empty. So, we had to sautee the steaks on the stove. Well, the pots and pans aren't in very good condition. The ones that were big enough to do what we had to do wouldn't sit flatly on the stove, so we had to keep shifting them so that all surfaces would be heated by the elements.
The owner had advised us prior to our stay that the dishwasher had broken and they ordered a new one. That's fine, he mentioned we could just leave the dirty dishes for his cleaning crew to handle. What we weren't told is that they left all of the dirty dishes from the previous guests in the dishwasher. So, anything we needed that there wasn't ample supply of, we had to wash out of the dirty dishwasher. To top it off, the dishes in the cabinets were very dusty, presumably from time untouched.
The beds: 2 of the 3 were rock hard. We were excited to see one of them was a sleep number, but the controls didn't work, and the bed wouldn't change 'softness.'
so, looking at the positive points, it's worth a stay, but be prepared.
