I am fan of the Boutique Hotel because, though the exterior remains a work-in-progress, the rooms are clean and comfortable and, more importantly, its soul is optimistic, ambitious, energetic, and driven--exactly what's necessary to elevate further what is already a surprisingly interesting, earnestly aspiring town which also features some very good restaurants and a brewery. This fan wants to see the Boutique Hotel grow, not only because it (and it's friendly staff) deserve it but because I want to believe that other travelers, too, enjoy unusual and authentic (non-franchised) experiences.
I came to Spruce Pine NC on on family emergency illness. Due to the short time frame, I had not made previous hotel reservations, as I was familiar with the surrounding hotels in Burnsville and Spruce Pine and thought there would be plenty of availabilty there. Once reaching Spruce Pine, i contacted several hotels, but they were all booked up due to the Gem Festival. I contacted Richmond Inn and the owner recommended the Blue Ridge boutique hotel. I contacted the hotel, and the staff was so accommodating, gracious, and just kind as can be. I cant say enough good and positive things about the wonderful staff, super nice folks!!! They came to my rescue, as i was extremely tired and needed accomodations. I asked for a queen bed and i was given the Crabtree Falls Room, second floor. It was extremely clean, cozy...perfect. Small refrigerator, microwave. The breakfast area, hosted a a Keurig coffee maker, (splendid coffee), fruit, cereal bars, granola bars, swirls, plenty of yoghurt. and orange juice. Perfect breakfast for on the go. If you are staying in the Mitchell or Yancey county area, I highly recommend this hotel. The parking area is graveled, but the rooms are worth it. A big and sincere thank you to all the staff.…
Spent a weekend recently at the hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. The photography in the halls and rooms was amazing. The hotel was only open for two weeks and so were still getting things their sea legs but it was certainly off of a great start. The location is in town and you have a short walk to cross a footbridge over the river to enter town.
