Micosta should be delisted from Bookings and other sites as a place to stay. We arrived at a house that was a shambles on the inside, and a junk yard on the outside. We were really hoping our GPS made a mistake, but that was not so. We went in to the front cautiously and unarmed, so we were nervous. Once in there we saw open rooms that looked like they were inhabited by crack addicts. The front yard had about 20 cats laying all over. We were in the right/wrong place, but got in the car and backed down the long dirt driveway at high speed. We contacted Bookings and they refused to give us a refund. Bookings is gone for us now, and Micosta, should be closed by the department of health and checked out by the local police.
The Micosta Liesure Inn is located about 10 minutes (via Rt. 20 and Rt. 9) from the downtown. It is not a 5 star hotel in the usual sense but neither is anything else in Hudson as every boutique hotel or B&B has their quirks and drawbacks. The Micosta is located on and is secondary to an organic berry and vegetable farm operated by the enterprising owner Steve and you are free to walk around the farm ("guard goose" permitting). Our room, although a little cramped, had a new kitchen, firm mattress a normal sized bathroom. Very clean and private. For a two-night weekend stay the total bill was about $240. There is no price gouging "cleaning" fee. This is about 1/3 of what a stay in downtown Hudson would be. We were somewhat skeptical at first, but now having stayed there, would not stay anywhere else. For the price and the tranquility of the farm, the value is 5 star.…
This was a good choice for our one night stay in the area. This is not a hotel per se, but rather a house and farm with added lodging units (like an apartment). Our room was cozy and comfortable and clean, with a working kitchen that included a coffeemaker, a microwave, and real dishes and glasses. Definitely one of the more quaint places we've stayed on our travels. Steve showed us around the place, pointing out where we could pick berries to eat right off the bush. Our room had a small porch with a couple chairs; perhaps if they had been scrubbed down, we might have sat outdoors with our morning coffee to enjoy the birds and the sun coming up!
A bit off the beaten track, this is a peaceful property overlooking a pretty creek and lovely gardens. We stayed in the room on the second floor, extremely private, quiet, clean and comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you could possibly need and then some! A home away from home. Steven, the owner is incredibly accommodating with an eye for details and a pleasure to talk to. The window framed a beautiful view of light snow falling on the garden. We hope to return in the Spring (if not sooner) to see the garden in bloom.
