Bathrooms & Kitchen & all rooms are very clean & well-appointed. Very pleasant setting a short walk from the beach (note if U visit in late August, you may have to avoid the Atlantic beach because of unrelenting biting black flies on any given day, depending on the wind’s direction — on the ONE day during my 4 night stay that this was a problem, staff kindly directed us to fly-free places to enjoy the water on the nearby Bay side of the Cape, or in area Ponds). Big thanks to Avery in particular who was very knowledgeable and generous with information on where to both hike & swim, and where U can park for free in State Parks by the water...however, when I was trying to remember Avery’s exact advice and asked a morbidly obese, dull, cold and condescendingly aloof young female host at the front desk for clarification as to the name of a nearby State Park where I could both hike & swim, she played the “Mass-hole” and snarked in reply, “the whole Cape is a State Park”. It took me 4-6 hrs. of hiking to shake off her demonic vibrations. She never spoke to anyone but fellow staff — definitely in the wrong line of work. Avery & co-worker Angel get 5 Stars — they were charming and full of social graces — they even did our dishes (but U better do yours, anyway!) Dorm beds were very comfortable. I’ve lived in sub-tropical climates with no A/C, so the heat didn’t bother me, but one might be advised to pack a small battery operated fan to keep U cool in bed in case the fans in the dorm rooms are insufficient 4U. Super generous breakfast included eggs, pancakes, and various traditional carbs (DYI). Plenty of coffee and milk. Crowd was mostly over 40 yrs. old, yet a good few younger folks appeared on Fri-Sun. Hostel is located in the middle of nowhere beside millionaires’ homes, so U better have a bike or car/truck. Nice little trail across the street leads to a serene little lookout spot atop a small hill. Nice front porch, picnic table & BBQ available, too. Living room is massive (7 couches) as is the kitchen. Pretty view of ocean from the kitchen.

Nice staff, nice area. Very quiet place. Everybody is very kind and calm. The beach is wonderful. The hostel is a little old. Bed are ok but not very comfortable. In summer, it's very hot in the room especially if you are on upper bed because it's too up for the fan. No intimacy in bathroom. Very small, and just a curtain. No kitchen and the nearest grocery (45min by walk) is very expensive. So it's better if you have car. But the atmosphere of the hostel is very good so you have a very good moment. I have a very good moment and meet wonderful people.

For people who are not into binge spending this place is like a little piece of heaven. The location is serene, quite. There nothing close to it, you got to have a car to get here, unless you are one determined hitchhiker, but I guess that's the price you pay for peace these days. Don't forget to take your favorite book, and did I tell you if you are lucky you might get the entire stretch of the beach to yourself...:) Sit out on a cool summer afternoon looking out to Atlantic or gaze at the million stars passing you at the speed of light.. This hostel is located in an old Coast Guard station right next to the beach. The hosts, Jeremiah and Emily are awesome! The beds are bunk beds with various size rooms. The bed width is small but comfortable. I brought luggage I knew would fit under the bed and a small plastic filing cabinet for my night stand/drawer. The breakfast is included and delicious. Dorm sleeping is an acquired behavior so earplugs and eye mask are highly recommended. I had a great time!

Located in nature preserve a few minutes walk to the beach, this is in a really beautiful setting. After landing in Provincetown and realizing that was not our cup of tea- too touristy and packed with people, we headed on bus to Truro Hostel. It was beautiful. Only drawback was a very long (1.8 mile) walk from bus station to hostel- we did hitchhike to no avail. It would be nice if they could arrange rides for those without transport.
