Our sleep was so quiet and restful every night it was like getting an extra night for free. We stayed a week and hated to leave. A hundred miles of mountains are on view on the horizon providing endless joy of that view. The lodge is centrally located and close to Montrose and Ridgway. Your hosts are wonderful and dedicated to your enjoyment of your visit. Make sure you get explicit directions to find the property and try to arrive while the sun is up. The property is very private so the questions below about hotel rules don't really apply.

Chimney Top Acres was a heavenly retreat! Though we enjoyed a few nearby activities/hikes (many nearby within 30 min drive!), we spent several days just staying put on the property! The trails were so peaceful (for biking or hiking!), the birds were amazing (at the feeders right at the house and on the hiking trails!). I love birding and saw some I had not seen before! It was so peaceful and gorgeous! Nikki is an amazing hostess, a wonderful cook, helpful, kind, funny and so generous to allow us to use the kitchen and grill at night as we did not want to go out to dinner. The hospitality and warmth was unsurpassed! The rooms were gorgeous and more spacious than many B&B's. We had a lovely balcony, and the decks and patios were perfect for relaxing. The breakfast was TOP NOTCH, healthy, yummy, diverse! And the beds were very comfortable, high quality! I can't wait to go back and highly recommend this place!! Best B&B I've been to!

This family-run B&B has recently gotten its start, and is a wonderful choice for so many reasons! We chose this B&B for our Leap Day wedding, primarily because of its location. The cabin sits on several acres of beautiful forest on top of the mesa near Loghill village, between the towns of Montrose and Ridgway. The uninterrupted views of the gorgeous Sneffles mountain range from the deck were what sold it for me - but the B&B itself was the icing on the proverbial (wedding) cake. The B&B has three separate guest bedrooms; two bedrooms on the top floor with a shared bathroom in the hallway, and one bedroom on the ground floor with an ensuite bathroom. The ground floor has a living room, dining room, and kitchen, along with access to a large outdoor deck. Although each room can be rented separately, we actually rented the entire cabin for a long weekend, to house our out-of-town guests and hold our wedding ceremony. It was the perfect solution for our needs! The owners have gone to great lengths to give the B&B a modern feel, yet have preserved the charm of the original cabin (particularly the beautiful woodwork). The living room has exposed wooden beams, interesting woodwork on the walls, and a gorgeous hearth and wood stove that were original to the cabin. (Note the wood stove isn't operational at this time due to challenges with the design - but there is still central heating that works well). The living/dining room is open while still being cozy, with a breathtaking view of the mountain range through the large windows. The kitchen had all of the basic things we needed. The guest bedroom on the ground floor is called Aslan, and while it doesn't have access to the deck, it does have an ensuite bathroom which is modern and comfortable. The room has a large closet, an electric 'fireplace' in the TV stand, and a Queen size bed with a new memory foam mattress. The larger bedroom upstairs is called Alpenglow, and the smaller is called Edelweiss. Both have a balcony with views over the property - although Alpenglow has the crowning glory of the mountain view. Each room has a comfortable Queen bed with a memory foam mattress, a large closet, and delightful decoration. Alpenglow has a small refrigerator included, and Edelweiss has some charismatic shelves that were original features of the cabin. The shared bathroom on the top floor has modern fixtures and a small, but very usable, shower. There is a complimentary hairdryer, and some soap and shampoo/conditioner if you need it. The cabin does not have a TV in the living room, but there is complimentary WiFi. And really, with views like that and all the activities in the area, do you really need a TV? :) Nikki, the proprietor of the B&B, was very helpful in ensuring we had everything we needed for our special weekend. She even visited us on a couple mornings of our choosing to cook us a delicious breakfast (for a small additional fee). There are also a couple critters that the family has in a barn near the cabin, which add to the charm of the property. As an added bonus, we saw quite a few elk, deer, wild turkeys, and birds on or near the property. Overall, we absolutely loved our stay at Chimney Top Acres. The B&B itself was comfortable and roomy, the deck was the perfect location for our small wedding ceremony, and the property provided us with numerous opportunities for beautiful photos.
