A hostel/restaurant right on the beach Playa Santana offers extraordinary food and coldest beers in the area. Prices are ok especially considering the quality of the food. The owner of the place is really entertaining and you will love to come back even if it is just for a couple of beers. I recommend BBQ chicken wings and grilled red snapper the most...but everything is also really really good.

Kasta is my favourite hostel I have ever had the pleasure of staying at.
Set less than 10m from the ocean, Kasta is a surfer and travellers dream. With incredible owners and prices, you cannot find a better place to hang out and enjoy the (famously) coldest beer in Nicaragua.
Incredible comfort food (try the chili con carne and chicken wings) that makes home feel less far, and local food that highlights the tropical paradise you are in.
Kasta owner, Stanley, is an absolute gentleman who treated my friends and I to a day trip into San Juan Del Sur for the fun of it!
I will come back for the super cool vibe, comfy beds and incredible sunsets, but will most look forward to seeing Stanley again!
Thank you for an incredible week Stanley and Marseille, I will be back!

My family and i enjoyed some time in Popoyo and spent most of our days at Kasta. Stan and his wife are great hosts. They supply not only the coldest beer in town but also a great vibe and amazing food. i found this place with my 11 year old daughter who meet friends and had a blast while i was able to relax. once my wife arrived we all had a safe place to store our stuff while traveling the beach, and could cool down with a great crowd and enjoy some drinks under the sun or dance at night with traveling people. the food is fresh and fantastic. the fish was a hit almost daily for us.

Super cool place with excellent laid back but competent vibes. The owner is an expat from Georgia who married a local. There is always music playing that anyone can put a request in. There is a projector playing on the side of the interior wall playing surf videos and youtube music playlists. The food is good all fresh and local and at reasonable prices. The place is directly on the beach half in the sand half out of it. For sure you should go there, for sure. It's a great social experience and everyone is very friendly great vibes.
