Located in the center of Christchurch CBD, The Muse Hotel is clean, cozy and fresh. The hotel staffs are very helpful and will gyide you throughout your stay. The room has a rustic design and provides complete amenities including complimentary coffee and tea plus a nespresso machine which is absolutely awesome! The toilet is posh and unique with options for hot and cold shower. Though the restaurants and rooftop bar are yet to open, one can easily go to a lot of restaurants and bars outside the hotel which is very handy. It was an absolute pleasure to have stayed in this hotel and will be back again soon.😊
The Muse is a lovely place: centrally located, parking available, beautiful beds to sleep in and very fab bathroom/shower. Touches of luxury like the velvet headboard, nescafe-like coffee machines/supplies and luxury linens really made it a nice retreat. We were given a quiet room overlooking park area & away from late night music scene, and the lovely, welcoming staff also followed up with me after I accidentally left my phone/computer chargers after check-out. Check it out for a lovely weekend - can’t wait for the rooftop bar to open later this summer!
I just read some of the reviews above, and can honestly say I am really surprised to read them! We just spent a few days in The Muse and we absolutely loved it. Our room was super clean, service was very friendly, and we loved the 'industrial' look of the place, including the art on the walls and hallways. Most hotels are quite bland, whereas this one has a bit of a theme going on. We loved the bathroom with the added touch of a make up mirror and bathrobes to be used. There was a parking area we could use just behind the hotel. The rooms even come with a little 'Nespresso' coffee machine. We didn't mind the continental breakfast being delivered in a paper bag (was an issue for some people), the only criticism I would have is that we had no way of cleaning our breakfast dishes. However, when we returned to our room in the evening, our dishes were cleaned for us. In a few weeks time they will have a little breakfast area downstairs so that eliminates that issue. I found our stay here extremely pleasant and will definitely be back! (by that time the rooftop bar/restaurant should be open, hurray, happy days).…
New hotel in great location. Standard, small, basic hotel room. Excellent rainshower with toiletries from India - interesting choice! There's a feature chair but not much in terms of sitting space. Queen bed is comfy but I noticed some stains on the sheets and towels. Disgustingly one of the robes had lipstick marks which I'd assume has not been changed from previous guests, just rolled and hanged back up. Either cost-cutting or plain lazy housekeeping staff. Either way, totally unacceptable. For a new hotel, I expected more. But it is advertised 3 Stars, and only deserves 3 Stars max.
A very average new hotel in central city. Renovated rooms in an old building. A bit rough around the edges. The Asian lady who checked us in seems remotely interested and she appeared we are more of an inconvenience to us being served by her rather than being welcoming and friendly. Room was not overly clean with fingerprints on the glasses and toiletries. Breakfast was a couple of croissants with 2 packets of butter and spread in a brown paper bag. Location is great but other than this there’s nothing extraordinary with this newest hotel in town. Why advertise the inclusion of breakfast if you struggle to deliver?? Also, a clean room in the age of Covid-19 pandemic is a minimum standard.
