There was 7 of us traveling together over the Christmas holidays. We booked 3 rooms which included a beach bungalow with pool, water villa and water villa with pool. This was our first trip to Maldives, but we did a lot of research and read reviews so of we had high expectations for the Pullman. And it did deliver!!! The food was amazing, the location was stunning, the rooms were modern and big, and the staff were helpful and friendly. The travel day to get to the resort was long and the interisland airfare gets delayed a lot (so be prepared for a wait) but once you arrive you’re in paradise. And the underwater world was spectacular! Every day we would walk/swim about 1/4 mile (about 15 minutes from the beach area) to the deeper area/“drop off”/house reef. We would see so many fish, turtles, sharks, and eagle rays. It was some of the best house reefs (that you could access without a boat) that we’ve snorkeled. We also went on several excursions which included the house snorkeling tour, a private island tour, night snorkeling, and sunset fishing. The snorkel tour and sunset fishing were included in our stay, but we paid extra for the others. And they were well worth the extra penny!! We also took advantage of several resort activities included a pool dive to learn scuba, mocktail class, cooking class, and massages. The Pullman did an amazing job on setting up special events for the holidays like a Christmas Eve dinner on the beach with fire dancers and LED lights show, pool parties, Santa on the beach, etc. At one time they probably had 100 staff setting up for the dinner on the beach. They also had staff maintaining the beach and grounds with early morning ranking of the sand and trimming trees/plants. The WiFi at the resort was fast and accessible. You could access it in the rooms/villas, restaurants, common areas by the pools, basically most places on the island. And you definitely needed the WiFi because you used the resort app “Staytus” to view the menus, daily activities, order a buggie, ask questions, or make dinner reservations. Overall the vacation was amazing and we highly recommended the Pullman! Shout out to the staff (especially Evalyn) for making it a wonderful holiday!!

Service 11/10 As with all the Maldivian resorts we have been lucky enough to visit, the staff simply could not be more friendly, helpful or accommodating. On finding our beach villa was sunrise, rather than sunset facing, we were immediately moved to a sunset facing room. Restaurant staff were so friendly with special mentions to Nisha, and Hakeem (our resident weather forecaster) along with Shifag, Ahmed & Shah, and the morning dosa chef and the evening grill chef, noodle chef and sushi chef whose names we couldn’t remember. Also a special mention for Evelyn in the Hub bar.
Location 9/10 The Maldives is obviously a stunning destination and Maamutaa is a beautiful island… just the right size to be able to walk around without necessarily needing to wait for buggies or have bicycles. It boasts its own house reef where we saw turtles, sharks and rays, and has plenty of the same viewable just snorkelling off the beach. We had a bit more rain than we’ve previously had in January at other resorts with the suggestion that proximity to the equator may make the weather a little unsettled. The beaches are pristine and one can often feel like the only people using them. I’m guessing water villa folk stay in their water villas but we thoroughly enjoyed the beach/sea/villa pool combination.
Accommodation 8/10 Beach villa with pool was roomy and beautifully decorated in the traditional Maldivian resort style with a spacious bathroom with bath and indoor and outdoor shower. There was also another outdoor shower next to the villa pool which was useful for de-sanding toes. Comfortable king size bed plus desk area and sofas and armchair as one would expect. The outdoor lounge area was also a welcome respite from sun or rain. For a relatively new resort there were elements that could be addressed… the bed headboard was a little grubby: We needed to request that all the plungers on the soap/shower wash/lotion dispenser bottles were changed as they had started to corrode and didn’t plunge. Although I’d usually never even think of turning on the big, flat-screen TV, on the one occasion I did when it rained all day I was surprised to find that there were no channels of either TV or radio programming tuned in.
The “all-inclusive” experience 7/10 Water and mini-bar restocked daily with a plentiful supply of beer, wine, snacks etc. Disappointing at how little alcohol free option there was (as I don’t drink alcohol)… no alcohol free lager/beer option for the mini bar and very little in the bars or restaurant, and no alcohol free wine option at all. We had assumed bicycles would be available free of charge but it turned out we’d have to use up experience vouchers for limited bicycle hire. Similarly with the massage… we were given four half hour vouchers each for massage but these couldn’t be used together to make an hour so 30 minutes was free but the second 30 minutes needed to be paid as extra. It seems the all inclusive is just catering for alcohol consumption and little else.
Restaurants 7/10 Although the food in the main restaurant was very good, particularly the daily fresh sushi offering at dinner, after 9 nights (the duration of our stay) it had become a little repetitive compared to the other resorts we’ve visited. We felt more could have been made of grill nights with the food being grilled in front of you rather than hidden behind a screen. I think Pullman suffers from not having two dedicated “all inclusive” restaurants, especially on busy nights when the romantic candlelit dinner experience was replaced by a noisy school canteen vibe, especially when tables were pushed together to accommodate larger groups. We didn’t visit the Phat Chameleon restaurant as neither of us are vegetarian.
Spa 8/10 Fantastic massages from Janna and Mara but not included in all inclusive vouchers as previously mentioned and the spa itself suffers a little bit aesthetically on very rainy days
Transfers 6/10 Having previously only done seaplane transfers from Male, we were looking forward to the internal flight and speedboat transfers from Male required for Pullman. Unfortunately the internal flight schedule is limited and unpredictable. Consequently we had a four hour wait at Male for our internal flight to Koodoo, and Pullman don’t have their own lounge. We had a similar wait on our return but at least we had the use of the Emirates international lounge in Male airport. We really lost most of our first day because of poor connections… not Pullman’s fault but certainly to be considered.
Overall 8/10 We had a lovely holiday and are, as always, truly grateful to be able to experience the Maldives and to be so picky but we both felt Pullman needs to up its game slightly with attention to finer details to be considered “Premiere “

Had an amazing stay at Pullman Maldives! The service was exceptional, and the resort’s beautiful environment made the experience even more special. The staff were all incredibly kind and attentive, especially Zin, who was so friendly and welcoming. She truly made our stay even more enjoyable. We did book via the hotel directly however next time I would prefer to book directly by the ALL app so any changes can be instantly managed instead of waiting for time differences, etc
I suggest better leave earlier, sometimes there is delayed in domestic flights and from Pullman speedboat also takes time like 30 minutes heading to domestic airport.
