easy to find right off the main highway and easy drive to Taka waka falls ...when i booked on line there was only one campsite left at the end of the loop where the campsites are in a field surrounded by trees and an excellant mountain view but no privacy whatsoever in the middle unless you get one up against the bushes and trees. Bathrooms are excellant in this campsite as well as main shower building everything is very clean and well maintained and did not care about no showers caue of COVID. This campsite is friendly for handicapped. the campsite is completely dark at night so bring a flashlight to get to the bathroom. We arrived just after lunch and asked if we could move to a better spot and chose number 19 instead of 83 along the creek. it was mostly private spot with the sound of the water and being right on the creek to see the water over the rocks soooo nice. Campsite 69 looked auesome it had a beautiful river view. we bought a fire permit and the campground guy was so nice helped us find our way around and and brought us firewood. So helpful i should have got his name...Bring ear plugs there is a train all night close by. WE tried to hike the old train bed but be warned its uphill most all the way then just before the highway where you cross the tracks it is down right treacherous with a tiny skinny path will loose stones i had a complete anxiety attack trying to get back wondering if i was going to fall to my death any second. we complained to Parks Canada on site and they said part of the trail had been washed away and they tried to fix it but its not safe for man or beast in my opionion!! The other trail loop we did was the Centenial around the river accross the highway and back to the campsite. they told us we would have to turn around at the end of the trail but that is not true you can simply make the loop through the campsite. It was somewhat challanging initially now good for children or strollers if that is what people want to know ........i would not hesitate to camp here again and get a site along the creek or that one on the river i mentioned earlier

We were a big group and had reserved two campsites. The campground is breathtakingly beautiful. Nestled along kicking horse river, with a backdrop of mountains and a waterfall... this is one of the loveliest campgrounds I have ever stayed in. Choose a campsites from 42 to 45. These have the best views of the waterfall. Campsite was large enough to pitch 2 tents. Showers were closed due to covid, but bathrooms were clean and flush toilets were working. There is a playground as well, didnt get a chance to go there as it was raining most of the time we were there. Active bear area, so plan ahead and keep campsites clean.

To be honest we were a little disappointed with this campground. We spent 2 weeks touring in an RV and stayed in several Parks Canada campgrounds and this was our least favourite. At this one we stayed in site 57, which was quite nice and private within trees but a bit dark. Sites by the river looked nice but you need to book these early. There was construction work going on to build new shower blocks. This meant that no showers were available - we did get a refund for this but probably wouldn't have booked 3 nights if we had known. There was also one morning when all washrooms were out of order. It didn't affect us as we were self contained but a lot of people were wandering around with crossed legs! The works also meant we had a nice view of some traffic cones in front of the grass. To be fair these are temporary issues and the new washrooms looked like they would be lovely. Our main problem was noise from the railway and from the main road, which was closer than we realised. So it wasn't the peaceful experience we had at other places we stayed. The positives were that the campground had lovely views, spacious sites and was in a good location. We used it as a base to visit Lake Louise, which was an easy drive away. The lady in the kiosk was very nice and warned me that the firewood was very wet so she suggested I only buy a permit for one night - good advice!
