Fresh seafood like crab lollipops and speedy service by amiable staff , mark this place .Our overnight stay introduced us to clean rooms and 24 hours hot water supply, which was A must due to the November chilly weather .A worthwhile stop on the way to Belgaum or Mumbai.
We had gone to Amboli for a break from the heat in Goa . Amboli is a small hill station in Sindhudurg district. Stayed at Hotel Sailee, formerly Sailee Lodge Owned and run by the Korgaokar family,it is simple but clean. The most modern thing about it are the LED lights everywhere . Whereas ,the family would cook Malwani chicken;if informed in advance, now they have a restaurant called the 'Amboli Biryani Centre' and 'Snappers'. Two names for one restaurant. This restaurant is the best in Amboli,at the moment. People staying in other hotels, lodges, guesthouses come to eat here. All in all,we had a pleasant two nights stay.
Many time went in Amboli which is cool area and relaxing. Had lunch in this restaurant which is worst ever in my life and expensive too. Avoid this restaurant which will charge you 5 times higher rates than other nearby. We ordered prawns tava fry and Goan curry which was completely waste. Biryani was yummy. Will never visit this restaurant again
The rooms are comfortable and spacious. We visited Amboli during the peak of monsson season, so the rooms were moisty and damp. The hospitality was really good. There was electricity fluctuation for some time. I wish that, as Amboli has an extreme weather in monsoon, they can have a heating system and a room for drivers too!
