Hi, we are planning to visit Juma lodge for 3 nights in September. A few questions:
- What is the food like? Is there a good choice for vegetarians?
-Are the drinks very expensive?
- Does this lodge provide an "authentic" jungle experience?
- Is it worth paying the extra money for the lake view rooms?
- Are there lots of cockroaches around?- one person in our party is terrified of them
-Is there any wifi at the lodge?
Food was good and with every meal there was familiar dishes and a few local dishes to try something different. Two of my daughters are vegans and one vegetarian and they enjoyed the food as there is something for everyone . (Always vegetables , fruit ,starch & protein). The drinks were not expensive . The lodge does provide a very authentic experience of the amazon with the daily excursions and our stay at Juma Lodge was the best part of our entire trip. It is definitely worth it to pay a little extra for the lake view rooms as you are a little more secluded from the other guest rooms as well and each night you have a beautiful sunset view. No cockroaches in the rooms, but you can't expect there to be no insects at all as this is the jungle, just keep your door close and lights off when you don't need it. No wi-fi at the lodge , which makes it the perfect getaway and retreat away from the rest of the world and blue screen light . If you choose to stay with Juma Lodge I hope you enjoy it as much as my family and I did .
