This was recommended by the local i-site office on a showery day. It was being hosted by a friend of the owners who did a fine job of helping us with the maze. The Spanish tourists who came after us were much better at it.
I think we spent about twice as long looking at all the puzzles as we thought we would.
Evidently it is moving to a new spot, one without a maze, but check first because it was definitely worth the unsealed road trip to get to it.
The peacock was an added bonus.

Omapere has to be one of the most beautiful places in the world. So much to see and the Labyrinth Woodworks was a delight to visit with lots to see. Loved trying the puzzles and would definitely visit again.

We travelled here hoping to find a book of word searches, but instead found ourselves INSIDE a word search! Thoroughly enjoyed the maze, even the part when we had to go back in a second time because we couldn't solve it (in the mean time several groups of people, including small children, had worked it out). Super fun, highly recommend for grownups of all ages.
P.S. Definitely check out the waterfall around the corner!

Absolutely amazing experience. We took our 3 kids here on a bit of a rainy day. Loui the owner totally entertained them with interactive puzzles and quizzes they still talk about "the Magic man"
We had an abolute ball here and brought some great puzzles to take home with us.
The kids didnt want to leave and then we found there was a maze that we could do as a family.
This place was so cool and great fund for the family.
Cant wait to go back again!!

We loved this place and the wonderful woman Sue. We enjoyed looking at the many puzzles and games and beautiful knitting done by Sue. Really fun was the maze and trying to figure out the answer to the 5 + 10 word challenge. We won a prize for finding the answer. Enjoyed the elephant too! Cool place!

This is a great place to visit if you like puzzles of any description. The owner, Louis, will show you his fantastic collection if you are interested, and there are some super things to see. A little off the beaten track it will appeal to those who like quirky places and quirky people.. I visited and was enchanted, but then I like Mongolian puzzles, Japanese puzzle boxes and Czech wooden puzzles. He also has some excellent woodblock prints. A treasure trove.

Tucked away up a gravel road you will find this little shop with lots of cool puzzles and interesting nick nacks. Just over the bridge is a wonderful waterfall and kauri walk. So peaceful.

This is a quirky stop off between Opononi and the Kauri forest. The puzzle museum and shop is very interesting and the lady there was delightful and chatty. The maze will probably be better in a few years, at the moment it's just some twine and fence panels, although it did take us a while to solve the word puzzle, and in fairness this is very cheap at $3pp. Probably great for kids with more imagination than us.

Speaking with Louie & looking at how easily he solves all the puzzles was incredible. He was very patient with my 10 year old son.

Could stay there for hours playing with all the little puzzles. Worth the visit and in a very nice area. Head to the waterfalls just adjacent for a scenic walk. Owners of the place were very lovely and had every puzzle you could imagine there.
