Im August diesen Jahres haben wir zu zweit einen Surfkurs bei Otra Onda gemacht und es sehr genossen.
Eine Gruppe besteht typischerweise aus 3 Schuelern und einem Surflehrer. In unserem Fall waren wir sogar nur zu zweit und haben so die volle Aufmerksamkeit. Dies ist nicht nur fuer den Lernfortschritt, sondern auch fuer die Sicherheit gut. Wir haben uns immer super betreut gefuehlt. Zudem wird auch nur gesurft, wenn es Sinn macht. Wenn die Wellen nicht gut sind wird eben bis zum naechsten Tag gewartet.
Da dies unser erster Surfkurs war koennen wir keine Vergleiche zu anderen Schulen ziehen, aber wir koennen allen guten Gewissens diese Surfschule empfehlen.

Had an amazing time surfing with Thomas. I visited Itacare with a friend who had never surfed before and he was standing up on his first time out! Thomas is an excellent teacher. He took us to some really amazing beaches (more removed from the center of the action)...some of the most spectacular beaches I've ever seen. He had great stories to share about the area and is very friendly.
I bought a board from Outra Onda as well. They have excellent selection at very fair prices. I would highly recommend this shop for anyone who is surfing in Itacare, whether you're a beginner looking for lessons or more experienced and looking to find a board and someone to give you an introduction to the different beaches in the area.

Anfangs Dezember 13 war ich für 10 Tage in Itacare um zu surfen. Mit Thomas und Bibe hatte ich die besten Lehrer!! Wir waren an wunderschönen Stränden und die Wellen waren Top!!
Wenn ich könnte, würde ich es sofort wiederholen!!

I enjoyed Itacare a lot and when I was there I really wanted to learn to surf.
I tried to surf before but they only thing I did was laying on a board and when I tried to get up I just kept on falling off.. Really frustrating, specially when you see everybody else surf.
So I've searched for a surf school and than I ran into Thomas. He told me he had a school and that he gives classes. It was cheap compared to others! So I booked a 3 day course. I was together with 2 other guys and Thomas had also an extra teacher Bibe! I spend the first hours with Bibe in the water and at the end of the day I was able to get up.
It was so much fun and Bibe helped me a lot! He really knows what he is talking about and he gives you the perfect tips. So good that I'm now able to surf by myself and I have to say that I'm doing fine.
Itacare is amazing and they will take you to the most stunning beaches where it's perfect to surf. One of my best experiences in my life. Definitely worth the money.

Outra Onda is a Itacaré based surfshop, that offers both surf lessons and the option to rent a surfboard. I took a three day surf course, which I enjoyed a lot. Both of the instructors (Thomas and Bibi) are really nice guys who know what they are doing, and both locals who know their way around Itacaré's beaches. The course also included a surf trip with a jungle hike, so I also got to enjoy the environment and it's prestine beaches.
Two thumbs up, and thank you guys! I had a wonderful time.

Surfin with Bibi from Outra Ondo was just the highlight of my Brazil travels. I skipped all other plans and just stayed in relaxed Itacare going to surf with Bibi. So many nice beaches. And just the best teacher you can get. His true love and passion to surf is amazing. No showing off… he really wants u to learn and givin u real advice and help to get better every day. So everybody gets some happy beleeeeza moments to take home catching a nice wave. Thanks for all guys. Will be back one day. For sure.

Thomas and Bibe run the best surf school ever! The guys are, fun, chilled out, know their boards an beaches and are really good at what they do! I would highly recommend them to anyone! Surfi power!

Really professionnel and chill surf's school with Thomas and Bibe. Thomas speaks reasonable good Dutch too.
