Nice church near the port, aesthetically pleasing. No entry fee so can go inside. Makes for some nice photos both in and out.

Welcomes you after a brief 1-2 blocks walk from the Pier. This nicely built church with a small park is the "center" of main road to the provincial capitol and main public market. It also has the Welcome marker for your first picture in the province.

About 5 minutes walk from the Port, one sees this old, small and simple church. It was represented to be the oldest church of Siquijor.

In front of it, is a small park that is a perfect location for taking pictures of this church.

This church is just located behind the signage of Welcome to Siquijor, near the port. This is a place you can visit either when you've just landed in the island or you're traveling back to Dumaguete.

This is one of the old famous churches in Siquijor. This one is located near the port and we had a chance to visit it while waiting for our car to be loaded on the barge. The interior is quite simple just like the facade itself, which, like most old churches on the island, was made of corals and limestone. It was already dusk when we visited the place and it was getting dark inside. I wish they would keep more lights on so as to allow visitors to appreciate the beauty of the church's interior more. Detached but not very far from the church is its old belfry, which was partly covered when we visited to place because of some on-going restoration.

The parish was founded in 1783, making this the oldest on the Siquihor island - it includes 1) the church, 2) convent and 3) the bell tower.

The church used to have a nipa roof which has now been converted into a tin one. Behind the simple and facade of the church you will find the basic cruciform plan of the modest church. The décor inside is minimal - white ceiling, antique lamps, religious icons and original yellow floor tiles.

The stone bell tower is separated from the church building and also acted as a watch tower. Invaders could be easily spotted from afar.

The nearby convent requires permission from the school guard and the office inside the convent. Inside, large beams reveal early craftsmanship and the convent holds some historical features that are a must see for history lovers, like the huge plaque above the entrance. The balconies and the clearly visible beams that keep op the second floor of the building.

Siquihor has several fine churches to visit and this is definitely one of them... arriving from the wharf, it's fun to imagine this church standing alone in the past and not surrounded by the commercial growth that occurred later.

Not to get confused with the church in Lazi, the one dubbed as Siquijor Church is the structure located near the port — the one that welcomes everyone in the island. Completed around 1830s, the church might be the oldest church in Siquijor. Its bell tower stands few meters away from the church. Presently surrounded with modern structures, the bell tower showcases how it withstood the test of time.

It is a nice welcoming attraction. The facade was nicely decorated to welcome tourists. The bell tower is placed far from the church. The area is open to see the best view of the church.

If you need to attend mass as soon as you arrive, it's right off the port. There are also diners nearby. It's right behind the Welcome to Siquijor sign, and you really wouldn't miss it. Not much to see. We were about to enter but there was a wake that was arriving, so we had to leave.
