I visited this place and glad I did. The walk in is very easy. It was during the rainy season so the waterfall put on a good show.

Romour has it, that Suwat was miscreant who stole someone's property, and in a chase from the poloice, he jumped into the waterfall and drowned.
Its other claim to fame is that this was the waterfall that is filmed on de Caprio's movie, The Beach.
It's a reasonable pretty fall, easily accessible from its large car park, just about a 200m walk.
If you go to Khao Yai, as there's just two basic attractions, both waterfalls, you certainly going to visit...

A great part of our visit to this lovely park was Haew Suwat Waterfall, famous for appearing in the film The Beach (deCaprio). We went in the rainy season so the flow was impressive, not sure what it would be like in the dry season.
You can see it from the top from a good viewing point but to look up at the falls from the bottom requires 120+ steep steps down and then back up. But it was worth it.
Recommend viewing.

It was September which was rainy season. We hiked to Haew Suwat Waterfalls in 15 minutes. We spent about 30 minutes at the Falls. Swimming wasn’t allowed at the Falls. The Falls were beautiful. The facilities near the parking were good.

Steps are manageable for the young and able bodies, just need to make sure you don't lose your footing between the rocks near the waterfall. My parents were too afraid to walk down the steps as it takes a long time for them to climb up.

Generally the dry season starts on March to May, however this year February is already very dry thus we only manage to see small waterfall. Having said that if you are adventuous and able you can get very good nature view of the caves and different perspectives photo of the fall. As my feet is not so good due to old injury I did not manage to get all the superb photos that my friend did. Yet it is a good experience. You can dip your legs in the water as the Nationsl Park rangers said no swimming in the waterfall.

I wanted to visit Haew Suwat waterfalls to duplicate the awesome pictures posted in www
Alas it was dry season when I visited the national park and the water (falls) levels were kinda disappointment for photography
It was a beautiful waterfalls no less and I can imagine it would be even more stunning with the two falls flowing full water
Easy access to the waterfalls ground zero via car and a few minutes of walking to the falls.

Mid Jan is typically a dry season and Haew Suwat was not gushing down with full force.
Only the left bigger fall was still running when we visited but we still made the choice to go down to the waterfall for a closer look .
The road down was not difficult , there are steps and as long as you take care , it's doable even for kids . Only the part at the bottom is tough as those are just rocks which can be slippery and difficult to balance/step on .
Once down and you find the perfect rock for photos , it's nice to sit around and relax .

Is there any entrance fee to Haew Suwat Waterfall?

You only need to pay for the entrance fee into the National Park. No need to pay other fee except if you want to hire a tour guide to bring you to other attraction places in the park

Emily Z,
my apologies. March to May are dry season and the waterfalls would be trickles of water. June to November are the better months to visit. So you might want to skip the waterfalls if you are going there these couple of months

You can choose which attractions within the Khao Yai national park that you wish to visit but you need to have your own means of transport as there's no public transportation like a bus service within the national park. We hired a taxi from Bangkok for 3 days to get around in Khao Yai and back to Bangkok.

Hi, Is it safe to go / walk up to the Waterfall with a 1-year old baby?

Sorry so late with my response. I do not think you will want to go all the way down to the waterfall area and then over all the rocks with a young baby. Lots of risk of a slip and fall even without a baby so I would not recommend this.
