Outstanding venue and performances. We had great second row seats and could see every nuance in the performance. In most venues, I like to be a bit further back to take in the whole scene. but in this theater, I would get seats as close to the front as possible. We will definitely be back.

Love everything about it. I went several times in the 2000's. This is my 1st trip back since the new theater was built. The grounds are beautiful!!! It is a very relaxing atmosphere. The festival does so much to make your visit a good one. Very good value. The free seminars and greenshow are good value added. We saw Comedy of Terrors and Ragtime and enjoyed them both. I will continue to attend this festival.
Very friendly town and lots of places to eat and great sceanery.

The Utah Shakespeare Festival is the complete theater package. From the varied play options of Shakespeare, as well as contemporary playwrights, there is something for everyone. The theaters are comfortable - can't find a bad seat in any of them. The performances are captivating; the actors are all remarkable. One play - "The Comedy of Terrors", a comedy with a cast of TWO actors, is an incredible feat of staging, action and laughs. I don't know how they did it. The most remarkable thing is that there are so many options for the theater-goer that you cannot be disappointed. Try a production under the stars at the Engelstad Theater, or a matinee at the Randall L. Jones Theatre - make it a tradition. Don't miss the options available, like the Green Show, or the presentations before the performances. The area around Cedar City has a lot to offer for travelers and the Utah Shakespeare Festival is a major attraction worth the journey and the time.

USF is run by a horrible man!! The Deaf Community of Utah is interested in the Festival just as hearing people are but Frank Mack not only denies the providing of ASL Interpreters but he's really excessively rude about it! Instead of just saying, "I'm sorry, we don't follow the ADA law that requires us to provide interpreters", he is really rude to those who have asked for interpreters. He says it's because they don't have the budget. I know of several small theatres in Utah who make MILLIONS less than USF who still provide interpreters. USF used to be great about it until they hired Frank Mack. I used to be a yearly attender but I have learned of this from several Deaf people and I have decided to boycott. I refuse to spend any of my money with USF until they start providing equal access to Deaf patrons. They provide captioning but, as the Deaf have stated, "If I want to read Shakespeare, I['ll stay home and read him. I want to SEE the play!"

I saw the Pirates of Penzance on Friday evening. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I loved the choreography which enhanced the comedic elements. My friend, who had never seen a Gilbert and Sullivan musical before could not stop laughing. If you are expecting a traditional production you may be disappointed. If you are expecting a fun romp...then this is the production for you.

Sooooo happy to have the festival back! They have outdone themselves in celebrating 60 years of amazing shows. I have been attending for 30 years and the talent just seems to get better and better. Entertaining, affordable, and there are always shows appropriate for the youth as well. I love this place!

Wonderful actors for the Shakespeare Festival . some of the plays are related to shakespeare but not necessarily Shakespeare himself. Definitely worth it and stay at Shakespeare Cottages across the street. Excellent quality, clean, free w/d, easy walk to Shakespeare Festival across street.

My friend and I drove up to Cedar City just for the purposed of seeing a couple shows at Utah Shakespeare Festival. We saw a matinee of JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT, and the evening performance of HAMLET! I happened to know 3 actors in JOSEPH (all from the same family!), and JOSEPH is one of my most favorite musical productions, so that was our motivation to drive up from Phoenix to see it. And one of the individuals was also in HAMLET, so we got to see him in both. We thoroughly enjoyed both productions. The actors were all amazing and provided such energy in their productions. I will admit we were tired after driving from Phoenix, and we wished we'd seen them on a day when HAMLET was the matinee and JOSEPH was in the evening, as the evening production started at 8 p.m. and was over 3 hours in length! But that was the only date that worked for me to catch the productions before the festival ended on Saturday. No matter how good HAMLET was (and it was very good!), we got sleepy! We both enjoyed the experiences so much that we thought: "We'll do this again!" And Cedar City is a nice town.

What a fun play! Great Story! Talented actors! Beautiful music! We loved it! It was our second time in the indoor theatre which has much better acoustics than the outdoor theatre. We attend the theatre every year and try to catch all of the Shakespeare plays. If you love Shakespeare this is the best local venue to catch it and ranks, in our estimation, with the National venues.

This year, we watched “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,” and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The cast was terrific, their voices were great, and it was a wonderful time. The show was nearly stolen by the actor playing one of the sons, though, with his “French” accent and affect. He had the audience in stitches... I laughed out loud, as did the ladies behind me, during the entire song. Bravo to the entire staff for their performance!
