Went here to do some swimming and cool off on a hot day. The “beach” is all rocks; no sand here. It was very tough to walk on; highly recommend wearing water shoes vs going barefoot. There is also no lifeguards, so be sure to keep your eyes on the kids! The lake was beautiful; just not as enjoyable swimming with all the rocks.

Beautiful lake views, site right in the bay area, hot birding spot for a variety of species along with the huge bat colonies. Great family spot for swimming and picnics, kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding. Attended many weddings and receptions as well. Our families have used this area for years and use to gather every weekend for picnics.

Our second time at this well kept and pretty park in the last two weeks. The
perfect place to read, rest, and do a little swimming. The three buildings from the 1790's add a lot of charm to this venue.
We highly recommend coming here to relax and unwind.
The young lady ranger at the gate was friendly and welcoming.
We will be back soon....

You can rent kayaks here or swim in the bay but we just stopped by and did a very quick little hike on a couple of the trails. Well marked with a few little uphill - really very easy but a bit more than a stroll. Trails are through wooded areas so it's a relatively good thing to do on a hot day. Also a nice grassy area with places to sit and just view the water and or have a picnic.

If you're looking for a nice change from one of Vermont's (wonderful) sandy beaches, Kingsland is wonderful. It is essentially on old estate that is now a state park, and visitors sprawl out on its grassy lawn which goes right up next to the rocky coastline. There are a few ways down to the water; some rock outcropping as well as a cement dock with a ladder...a great place to do some cannon-ball jumps. We brought a Paddleboard but you can rent canoes and kayaks. If you paddle, you can go south to the town beach (easy paddle).

Kingsland is not fancy, but it is beautiful.

Parents; some lovely shaded spots. Water shoes are a must (for traction and easier walking on the rocky coast). Highly recommend bringing life vests if you have them so the kiddos can jump off the dock and bob right back up.

Easy walking trails along a cove section of Lake Champlain. Very peaceful and cool - we were the only hikers we saw, although there were swimmers at the local beach when we got back to the parking lot.

An amazing place to rent kayaks. Affordable and with so many beautiful coves to see. And the staff at the park couldn't be more helpful! Perfect for families with young kids. .

This is a beautiful, spacious state park a few miles from Vergennes and Ferrisburg. We walked the trail that led to a bluff overlooking this part of Lake Champlain. There are some lovely historic houses available to rent for weddings and functions. Boating, fishing, swimming and sailing! Wonderful place for children of all ages! Your State of Vermont Green Mountain Passport (available to seniors at town offices) will get you in for free, otherwise there is a small fee.

This park has several old homes, once part of an estate on the lake, including a 1790's home reputedly built from stones taken from old Fort Ticonderoga (the buildings are currently closed to the public, but apparently available for events). It has a beautiful picnic area on the lawns, swimming dock and small beach, some boats to rent, and a wooded hike along the lake. There is no camping, store, or restaurant, however.
