Charlene greeted us. A charming piece of history about the first Hilton hotel. It includes history on the Sanatorium and is two floors. It is completely free but they do allow for and ask for donations

Enjoyable stop enroute to the Fort Davis Mountains. Executive Director and Curator of the Museum, Tammy, greeted us as we stepped in and gave us an overview of the center. Tammy was a joy to talk to, and so friendly.

She took us upstairs, and gave us an overview of the Conrad Hilton museum. Upstairs also includes a small historical museum of Cisco and its residents. We found both museums interesting. It was really fun to stop and learn about one of history's iconic businessmen.

Thank you, Tammy, for a delightful visit and for our gift goodie bag!!

If you are on your way to west Texas and are passing by Cisco...stop in!

We were driving the backroads of Texas looking for the interesting and unique, and were intrigued by the idea of the Hilton museum. It is small, and modest, and quaint. It is free and the friendly woman at the Chamber of Commerce seemed surprised to see us.

What else do you want from a roadside attraction besides Early 1900’s Texas History with some added Hollywood glitz and a picture or two ‬of a young Elizabeth Taylor & Zsa Zsa Gabor?

The Conrad / First Hilton Museum really is a great stop that demonstrates and documents an American business success story!

The 1916 Mobley Hotel Building is home to the friendly and informative Cisco Chamber of Commerce, community events center, and a small museum dedicated to the Conrad Hilton family and hotel legacy. The spacious, informative second floor museum tells all about Conrad Hilton, his family and his hotel empire, and contains well-organized displays and recreated rooms showing the hotel as it was in 1919. Very informative about a little known piece of Texas history. Cisco is a small, friendly place to visit between Fort Worth and Abilene and a stop here before trying one of the towns restaurants for breakfast or lunch is recommended.

Great little museum on the history of Conrad Hilton, founder of the Hilton hotels. His first hotels served the booming oil industry in Texas and the rooms were rented in 8-hour shifts with the rooms being rented three times during each 24-hours. This hotel generated enough for Conrad to buy or build many other hotels across Texas that served the oil industry in 8-hour shifts.

Too bad Conrad didn’t stay in Texas and raise his family in the same work ethic! Hollywood seemed to lead his family astray from its roots.

When Conrad died, he left 95% of his money to his Hilton Foundation that goes about investing in communities similar to what Andrew Carnegie did in his lifetime.

This old hotel was a recipient of the Hilton foundation. It received 1.4 million in the 1990’s to turn this dilapidated building into a community center, chamber of commerce office, Cisco local history museum and Hilton hotel history museum.

Entrance is free. This museum is worth a stop if you are in the area.

Pictures include President John F. Kennedy; President Woodrow Wilson; President George Washington; President Eisenhower; President Lyndon B. Johnson; Elizabeth Taylor and many others.

The Conrad Hilton Center is the hub for many activities in Cisco. It has a very nice ball room, which can be used for banquets. There is also a museum upstairs, and it features several interesting things about Conrad Hilton, who purchased the original Mobley Hotel and started his hotel chains. His story is inspirational.

This is a small museum, free admission. This has a lot of interesting historical facts and news clippings about the town of Cisco and this region of Texas. But the highlight would be the display pieces that lay down the history of Mr. Conrad Hilton and the Hilton group of hotels. The Mobley Hotel building was renovated by the Hilton group a few years ago, there was a room that was restored to the way it was around the time Mr. Hilton ran this.
The person in charge of the museum (extremely sorry, I forget his name), he was exceptionally helpful. The very manner in which he conducted himself betrayed his deep passion for the museum and the artifacts.
This is a small town indeed and definitely worth a stop if you are passing by. You wouldn't ideally need more than an hour to go through all the displays here.
