Waste of time and money, After being let down by another venue closed down, followed signs for Umberslade children’s farm. Didn’t think we came to the right place, it looked more like turning into a business park. Long drive just seemed to lead to a carpark with nothing around and no signs of a farm. Decided to see if we could find it before committing to stay and pay. All could find was a bike maintenance shop and an expresso shop, it seemed really unwelcoming and no indication of where to go so decided to come away. I was absolutely disgusted to find they had a fined me £100 for the short while I was there to look for somewhere that was falsely advertised

It's not been a farm park for a long time but we still enjoyed visiting the estate. We would go for a long walk, see the goats, chickens, ducks and pig, pop into the cafe for a drink and cake then the kids would play on the play area. The play are is looking very worn especially the toddler part but as it was free couldn't complain. We were so disappointed to visit today and find the car park has been taken over by parking eye. You can no longer go for a walk first without paying. Honestly there's not enough here to warrant paying to park. Such a shame as we always spent money in the cafe but on principal we won't be visiting anymore, there are better cafes.

Hi,
You are correct we don't operate as a farm attraction anymore and haven't done for 4 years now.
The car park is now managed by parking eye not owned. This has been introduced due to a number of visitors taking advantage of facilities without using the coffee shop/playbarn or pizza barn.
Parking is free if you use facilities on site such as the coffee shop, playbarn or pizza barn. You need to enter your registration at each location. This can be done at any point during your visit so you can go for a walk first if you wish.
If you don't wish to use facilities you can choose to pay for parking which is currently £2.00 for up to 2 hours or £5.00 for up to 12 hours.
In your situation, as you are using the coffee shop there is no real change and parking is free.

The whole place is disgusting, the cafe was covered dirt and grime. Rancid place. To top it all off there was an open sewer spewing out toilet soiled toilet roll. On the main walkway up with children playing near by. What a disgusting mess.

Unfortunately, with large visitor numbers and not being connected to mains sewers, blockages do happen.
This is often due to visitors flushing baby wipes and other products down the toilet and causing blockages.
I'm glad to advise this has all been resolved.

wonderful for children and grown ups we were there for over four hours with seven children and we had to drag them away
the price is very reasonable I have told a lot of other people to go there. I would say take a picnic as it can be a long wait for sandwich ect as there was only one man in a shed serving.

This was once a great place to visit with children. Back in the 2000s
Now to take our granddaughter it is literally embarrassing .
I loved going with my children in 2003/4/5/6/7/8/9/
Now I am afraid it's a no go area....
What a shame

Yes we haven't operated as a farm attraction now for 4 years.
It ran as a visitor attraction from 1988 to 2020, some great fun years but unfortunately not economically viable towards the end.
We are still open to general public. Its free to visit if using our facilities such as our coffee shop, pizza barn or playbarn. Check out our website www.umberslade.com to see whats on offer. Parking charges apply if not using onsite facilities.

We decided to visit as although we live quite close we had never been. First our sat Nav decided that we should approach via a gated farm track which was incorrect. We then went via Tom Hill. As we came into Tamworth there was an entrance to the Umberslade Estate but absolutely no signs for the Childrens’ Farm Park. We drove down the long drive to a car park. The wer signs for a Dog Trainer but nothing else. There were no children in evidence so we decided to abandon the “visit” an went to Arrow Valley Park in Redditch instead. If the Children’s Farm Park exists at all then they should improve their signage.

It's not a farm!!!! There's hardly any animals to see, went years ago and it was fabulous you could hold and feed the animals, ride a horse, have a ride on a tractor, there was none of that today, I took my granddaughter thinking how much she would enjoy seeing all the animals!!! A terrible letdown!!

It’s No Longer a Farm !!!!!
I remember going Umberslade farm and you would pay a small fee entry get some animal food and there was activities/ animal feeding etc and there was a converted barn which has some soft play activities
On arrival i was told due to covid (this is now 2023 btw) any activities now have to be pre booked however as they no longer charge entry they require guests to get something from the coffee shop / cafe and pointed out they have a play area still and 2 pigs and a goat the soft play actives is now a toilet block
It’s basically a coffee shop / cafe with a play area think it’s time to drop the farm bit as bit of a drive for a coffee

Our family visited Umberslade Estate today, and despite some of the lovely elements (play areas/animals) the coffee shop was shocking. Food was average, there were extensive waits on food/drinks, the tables were all littered in dirty crockery and the floor was filthy. The latter was a huge concern in a dog friendly establishment as there were raisins littered all over. Of course this may not be the staff’s fault, however it seemed unlikely that the floor had been swept in the morning, as the mess that remained was awful, and surely several day’s worth.
Lovely area, but will bring our own picnic in future.

Dropped into Expresso farm coffee shop which is on the Umberslade farm.
The service was exceptional provided by Ellie who was so polite and customer facing.

Yes there are toilet facilities at our campsite. We have 3 gas showers and 3 toilets within the wooden cabin buildings.
We hope to see you at the farm soon!

There are small sit on self propelled cars. At different times there are activities which involves children in bottle feeding calves, lambs and other small animals. You can pet rabbits, chicks, rats etc. What child doesn't like tractors........Take a ride on the tractor trailer, lovely when the sun is shining. There are ducks and hens to feed. Hope this helps.

haven't camped there myself but they do have an attractive looking campsite along with some yurts????
I think they also have large teepees available and they have had wedding receptiobs there so I'm guessing the standard is quite high

Has there been any action on this from the farm or is it a stated position of the farm to treat non-caucasians differently. Am not sure if I should take my family unless the farm clarifies on this.
Thanks for posting this. It is important that Businesses understand that this kind of behaviour is not acceptable in modern day Britain.

We visited in June and experienced no discrimination. Staff were polite, friendly and professional to all members of our party irrespective of ethnicity (and we a very mixed bunch of ethnicities)
