An attraction right in the heart of the city
ago de 2021
I hadn't heard of a "tyto" - a kind of owl-like bird that's native to this region so wasn't quite sure what to expect of the wetlands. It clearly is home to migrating birds and is best seen from the elevated walkway that winds around the site for about 100+ metres. The chief interest of this facility would be for twitchers and young children as it affords a safe and secure means of bird observation

Great information centre, staff, and Wetland
out de 2020 • Casais
The Visitor Information Centre is well worth the time to visit. Staff are friendly, helpful and well informed about Ingham and the surrounding areas. The displays on the creation of the Tyto wetland, its habitats, birds etc are interesting and provide excellent information on what to see on the walks. It’s also an attractive building. We wandered the walks several times over three days to watch birds and enjoy the peaceful ambience and habitats.

A pleasant stop over spot with lots of birds
set de 2020
Well done Ingham for providing a pleasant spot to walk around, but if you are a keen birdwatcher then this is a must. There are plenty of species to see and naturally early morning or later in the afternoon are best times. The Visitor Information Centre are very helpful and provide maps of walking tracks a a basic list of birds too.

Do not drive through Ingham without stopping here for at least a few minutes

Outstanding wetlands and exhibits of the Sugarcane industry.
The first thing to do here is climb the stairs to the top of the tower.
The view from the top is outstanding.
Then the raised walkways and paths provide excellent viewing across the complex and of the specific areas such as Turtle pools - lots and lots of turtles.
The Lilly Trotters are fascinating and there are many other water and other birds.
The displays of the cane machinery and train lines are also very informative.
Unfortunately most of the complex buildings were closed due to CoVid restrictions but there appears to be some local Indigenous info and other displays to be visited.

Well worth a stroll around - if you want to catch birdlife, need a telephoto lense. Very peaceful, well signed paths.

Plenty to see
ago de 2020
This place has a small lookout over the park then a beautiful walkway through. Saw heaps of turtles, birds. This has been done so well and plenty of people seemed to be making use of it . There are conference rooms , a library and office at the beginning of the walk

Great place to walk through

Although not very ‘wet’ at this time of the year, it is a beautiful place to walk through just on the edge of Inghams’ town Centre...!
Great interpretive signage and lots of historical pieces of interest pertaining to the towns’ sugar industry
