A treacherous hike, not easy as many sites said so. Roots, rocks, and high slopes make it more than challenging. It was so steep going down once you were at the top, blue trail, my toes felt broken as I took baby steps getting down. Tight small parking lot and unfortunately a letdown in spite of the views from up top. Never again

Quiet sanctuary amongst wooded trails. The trek to the top is worth the effort as the views are amazing on a clear day. Each trail takes you on a unique flavor of nature.

Great workout, beautiful sights. Great to bring a picnic to enjoy at the top. Would suggest going in the fall to enjoy the colors.

It was a bit early in the season and so the trails had not yet been cleaned up. The preserve is very peaceful. We watched the birds and some small animals. I recommend downloading the trail map on your phone and using some kind of bug repellent (Neem Aura is organic), especially if you go in the late afternoon. I also recommend long sleeves and long pants to avoid possible ticks. My grandson (age 22 with autism) and I (age 75) took the white trail up the mountain and the blue trail to return. Both of us got our heart rates up, but not dangerously so. Cell phone service was good throughout so that help could be obtained in an emergency. All in all, we felt that we got some good exercise and enjoyed the day.

No too strenuous but beautiful views once you get to the top. If you get only 1 shot, go in the fall. The colors are spectacular

In my last review i said no birds as this fits into the schema of Mother nature at this time. Since the deer are eating the understory of plants and shrubs, bird habitat is scarce. Song birds are on the decline as we fill all the lands with housing and stores.
Of course there are birds, but not like Croton Point or the Rockefeller trails. We are fixing the deer Xclosure with fence ties that go down to below zero. The terrain is great, with something for everyone. The trail system folks are to be commended, and
the view on top is still big and worth the climb. Dogs should be on leashes.

For a quick hike up a small mountain with a nice slope and many rocks come to Turkey Mountain. Lots of shade and a few challenges. Great views at summit!

Someone works hard to maintain the trails. There are bridges over the streams, and very well marked trails and maps. You can do 20 minutes short loop or an all day longer hike. The view from the easily achieved summit is very nice. Wild blueberries in season make for a nice trailside snack. Note: Dogs are not allowed (although some people ignore that and there don't seem to be repercussions). Also note that there are not any bathroom facilities or running water.

Great for a not too strenuous hike, beautiful view at top, the white trail is steeper than the blue one but both lead to top, so can take one up and the other down.
