Stopped in on our way to Nannup and although the Lavender was not in bloom as only flowers in the summer months the gift shop was worth the stop, stocked with all things Lavender. The owner Richards knowledge and enthusiasm was great and the helpful hints he gave my wife on growing Lavenders was appreciated.

I love lavender very much. I emailed the owner, Richard Wait that I would love to visit the farm with my family. He did advice me to ensure that I came within the opening time. We planned for 8th Nov, a 1.5 hr journey from Canal Rocks. Thought we can make it on time, unfortunately we were 30 mins late. But we managed to capture a few beautiful trees outside the farm. I bet the view in the farm must be even colourful!

A bit frustrating though, as we were all the way from Margaret River and the closing time was at 4pm. I would suggest for the farm to extend the opening time, perhaps from 9am to 5pm. Balingup is a bit out circuit and a little bit further. No luck for us this time..we cant spent time long as the dog inside the house kept on barking. Here are some pics..

On our way back to Perth we stopped by. Even though its not the season for lavender there was still plenty of items that can be bought as gifts as we did. The owner was friendly and explained things to us. If you are in the area pop in and have a look.

On arrival we were greeted and offered a tour of the Lavender Oil extraction process and then a tour of the wonderful garden. The products for sale in the cottage shop were of high quality and well priced. We left feeling very relaxed from the Lavender experience and enriched with knowlegde from the very dedicated and passionate owner.

Lovely way to spend some time on our recent camping trip to the area...Whilst the lavender was in flower in the farm garden, the harvest had taken place in the main field some time earlier...Quaint,Interesting shop stocking a multitude of products featuring the farm's product. We left with some lavender honey which contains edible lavender oil, as the flavour would not be strong enough, if left entirely to the bees. A small snippet of the information kindly imparted to us by the kind and accommodating owner. The garden makes a lovely photo venue ! In the work shed at the farm entrance is the lavender oil still, the only oil still in W.A. We were kindly provided with a full run down of it's operation, in what is a fascinating process ! Balingup Lavender Farm is a lovely place to visit and to leave with an unique souvenir from the farm shop.

We visited the lavender farm and thoroughly enjoyed it. The flowers were wonderful and garden and shop were well worth the visit.

The owner is friendly and was most helpful. He discussed the processes and took us through many of his products.

The jams are excellent as are the cut/dried lavender. A great local producer.

Small store outbuilding facing a small lavender field. Inside there is everything lavender infused. Very easy to buy something here for yourself or as a gift. Then take a leisurely stroll around the outbuildings and into the lavender field.

Attracted to the Balingup Lavender Farm by the promise in the Festival's brochure of 'tea, lavender biscuits and lavender ' served on the verandah and the opportunity to view 'the abundant birdlife. No tea, no biscuits, no lavender icecream and no birds. A well planned garden with some interesting individual specimens but needs a good spruce up for inclusion in The Festival of Country Gardens. Lawn properly mown, some edging work and some raking up.Interesting material in the distillation room but the photographs and information sheets which form the display were dirty and dusty and needed a good wipe down. So much potential but...maybe the owners are worn out.
