A beautiful, peaceful hike. We started following the blue trail but reached a point where we could not the next marker, after searching for about 30-40 mins. We walked back and used the red trail to the yellow trail to return to parking lot. Other than that, it was a pleasant experience. A few hikers and mountain bikers along the path

First time at the small bore range. Facility is nice, the range safeties are experienced, incredibly helpful, and keep everyone safe and shooting. The place is a gem, and so are the people.

This place offers a multitude of trails for hiking and biking that cover a beautiful eastern deciduous oak/maple forest. We enjoyed that the trails imcluded multiple challenges from flat and smooth to solid hikes up a mountain. The entrance fee is $10 for a car and it is pet friendly (as long as you keep puppers on a leash).

Obviously we are not locals, as no sane person hikes in January!!! But we loved it. The reserve was totally silent and all the ponds / lakes were iced over and it was just stunning scenery. Would love to do it again in the summer.

This county park consists of 1,583 Acres. It's mainly used by mountain bikers, but we had a terrifically exhausting time going up hills, down valleys, climbing granite boulders, glacial erratics and rock outcroppings.  The air is clean and the view is beautiful.  The wooded trails are surrounded by tiny lichen, ferns and woodland creatures.  We saw small salamanders, frogs, squirrels, chipmunks and lots of birds.  There was evidence of deer, but we didn't come across any.

There are two mountains here, the Spitzenberg and Blue Mountain.  A five-mile hiking loop includes both of them or you can modify the hike to include only one or neither.
It is suggested to visit on a weekday if you are looking for solitude, since mountain biking is popular on the weekend.  (Check ahead to make sure there are no mountain bike races planned.)

A nice farely quiet park ona sunday off the beaten path in peekskill with kiddie and picnic areas and hiking. Accessible by metro-north Train from NYC to Peekskill and then a 20-30 minute walk to the park or can catch a quick ride and use your metrocard on the 14 bee-line bus on Washington avenue down to the park.

It was an impromptu outing and wanted to go to some places I’ve never been before.
This place is great. It’s more for soft hiking with some elevations depending on which trails you take with beautiful surroundings. It felt like we were a million year away from the city. It’s very easy to navigate and it’s well maintained. The amazing thing is that we crossed more wild animals than humans. We crossed 2 bikers during the whole time we were there. We had to pay $10 for parking. There might be other areas to enter to skip the fee. I loved it and will be back. Great spot for mountain bike, easy hiking, picnic.

Many trails with different levels of difficulty. The trails are well kept and not strenous. Worth a good trail walking practice ground. Comfortable seating and picnic areas near parking.

My partner and I like to invite friends up to Peekskill to hike. It's a quick 1 hour long ride on metro north that goes along the Hudson. Once you arrive to Peekskill, there's a free shuttle that will take you to the blue mountain trailhead. This trail is an easy walk but it's not too busy, even on weekends and it's been well maintained. Theres not much of an elevated climb so I'd say a group of adults could walk the most outer trails in 3 hours.

Free for no drivers. Easy to get by train. We took the Metro North in Grand Central Station in NYC. Easy hiking trails. Beautiful wooded hills and views of the Hudson river. They have a nice map that guides you through the different trails. We saw several bikers. At the entrance we saw a pic nic spot with grills, which was somehow surprising given that it's a reservation park. Families, senior hikers... all are welcome. Back in Peekskill, before the arrival of the train, we got a well deserved dinner in a nearby restaurant.
