Although the house was closed due to COVID, it is still worth the visit! The audio tour around the property helpful to learn the history. The grounds were very relaxing as was the massive porch. Will return when the house re-opens.

Recapturing, recording & perpetuating women's history (Herstory) is vitally important & there is no better place to begin than Paulsdale. Much more than a museum to a martyred champion, in a bucolic setting, the Alice Paul Institute continues her work with challenging programs to educate & train future leaders. Bring your daughters & sons!

This was once a Quaker farm over 100 acres, and was the childhood home of Alice Paul. It now houses the Alice Paul Institute which is dedicated to preserving Alice's legacy. This location is one of very few historic sites commemorating women's history in the USA. There is a self guided tour, as well as Saturday tours hosted by docents - schedule on their websites. They also host many events and programs geared for youth throughout the year. Very well maintained, excellent information and very friendly staff. Not to be missed!

Not only lot's of history, excellent staff and a great outing for a family but it's also a beautiful old farm house. I've also been to a concert on the lawn and a fundraiser held by another charity. Just a great place in Mt. Laurel

I've always been interested in Alice Paul and the ERA. Visiting her home and the "In Pursuit of Ordinary Equality" exhibit taught me so much and was very inspiring! Definitely recommend a visit! Be warned: for GPS, spell the location 128 Hooten Road (not Hooton)

Paulsdale is a National Historic Landmark, a gorgeous 215-year old Quaker farm house, surrounded by 6 acres of preserved green space - a rarity in south Jersey. At Paulsdale, I saw a terrific exhibit showing the history of the women's equality movement - from the fight to win the right to vote, to the campaign to get the Equal Rights Amendment to the constitution passed (which still has not happened). Paulsdale - the Alice Paul Institute - runs great leadership programs for girls, as well as history programs and social events - like the "Paulsdale Uncorked," wine tasting in the fall. What a south Jersey gem!
