Great place to go if you want to avoid the mob scene at the beaches
jul de 2021
Lovely green shady paths and places to sit quietly and look at the water when the beaches are a mob scene.

Visit at low tide. Bring good shoes or sandals. Rocks are numerous. Try and find prettified wood in tide pools. Lots of crab and mussels to find as well

A great place to visit to see where the ship yards were protected during WWII
mai de 2021
Park was once a family resort, taken over by the government during WWII. You can see the rails from the big artillery weapons that were there. You can walk/bike through the wooded section and see the stone wall with the fountain. Walk more and see the site where people landed in the early days.
Great place to start a bike ride down 1a to Hampton Beach.

Lovely rocky shore and pathway
nov de 2020
This was a last minute decision to check out this park and so we were a bit limited on daylight. The map we had was not very good, and the trails are not really marked at all. But it is beautiful, there are sections along the rocky shore with tons of gorgeous rocks and shells. The pathways (not along the shore) are easy and wide, good place to bring kids, especially once the learning center is reopened. There is a playground which I also believe is currently off limits due to Covid.

Great fishing, but poor beach management
ago de 2020
Took my grand kids and other family members here several times this summer. We booked on parking online as requested and paid our fees. No problems. Easy check-in and great fishing along the sandy beach. We arrived early in the mornings and staked out our picnic area and started to fish. By 2PM, boaters started to arrive at the beach and basically took over areas of the beach. Now mind you, they didn't pay and there are no dogs allowed, but they brought them ashore anyway. One of the dogs started chasing my grandson! The boaters pulled up within 4 ft of me. At the end of the afternoon, there was 8 boats, 4 dogs and about 20 adults...all from the boaters. Rude and did not not care if they went over your fishing line. There is no policing of the beach! So be ware of the village idiots that come a shore!

Wonderful heritage site
fev de 2020
David Thompson and Amias Cole were my 11 G Grandparents, so this one has special meaning, but a great little park. We saw the location of the original settlement, the family cemetery behind the barn and the modern memorial set in the park along the shore. Super historical spot.

Rating due to time of year
out de 2019
My husband and I visited the park on an overcast, windy fall day in Oct. so my rating is not as high as others. Walking the beach was not appealing because of the weather and we didn't want to pay admission to the science center so not much to do ($4 to park but I can't remember fee for science center). It would be a nice place to take small children so they can get out and run around and explore. Otherwise, nothing super special about this spot for me.

Great small park
out de 2019
We stopped here on Tuesday on a cool fall day. The walk along the shore line was very invigorating and cool due to the breeze off the water. We walked some of the trails and when you got out of the breeze it was very pleasant.

Enjoyed a sunset stroll through this park

Great spot for a day hang out or just a walk. Plenty of trees for shade and space to take in the fresh beach front air.
