The theater is very ambitious-- produces musicals with live orchestra--and always well done. Free paring on site is another plus. Keep a lookout for their art in bloom show as well.

We were introduced to this theater through Goldstar and were surprised not to find any reviews here. It does two productions a year. Currently, The Light in the Piazza is on until Jan. 30 and then Sondheim's A Little Night Music from May 6-22, 2016.
We didn't like the current production, but that had more to do with the musical itself--a hybrid opera/musical--rather than the production. We enjoyed the singing and acting, which was fairly polished for community theater. Especially Lynn Shane in the role of the mother Margaret Johnson. The set looked pretty much the same as the Broadway production, although it's a little distracting for the piano player's back to peek out from the "hidden" orchestra.
A non-profit founded by Brian Milauskas of Kidstock! and Debbie Boyle of Ballet Arts Center, it aims to be a community space for more than theater. It allows outside groups to rent the space for performances, staged readings, fundraisers, corporate events, lectures, demonstrations, civic events, social functions, etc.
The lobby houses the Barbara Gagel Art Gallery, a dedicated space for local artists to display their work. Fun to view the paintings during intermission.
It's an intimate theater--just 135 seats--so not a bad seat in the house. Staff or probably volunteers were friendly. Soft drinks and candy can be purchased at intermission. There's lots of parking next door at 50 Cross St.
