Lovely, easy trails and interesting info!
jul de 2021 • Amigos
We had a lovely visit. The collection of Thornton Burgess information and items were interesting to the whole family. The trails through the briar patch, wildflower garden and to the smiling pool were easy and beautiful. We even saw a rabbit in the briar patch!

A Lovely Walk
jun de 2021 • Amigos
We had a great time rambling through the garden and walking one of the trails. We saw a rabbit, frog, and a bunch of turtles. The flowers were gorgeous!

Quick in and out to shop and to see animals
fev de 2020
Unbeknownst to us, We stopped 2 minutes before closing. Just as they were locking the door, the employee asked if we wanted to come in and take a look at the animals. Kids thought it was cool to see them. Have stopped previously and went through the kitchen and gift shop. Still have yet to go through the rest of the house, but what I have seen, I thought was pretty cool and interesting!

What A Shame!
set de 2019
Green Briar used to be one of my favorite venues on the Cape- a lovely gift shop, pleasant volunteers- and a jam kitchen which was almost always busy with volunteers making jam and talking to customers. They had wonderful gift items and food products- everything from jam and jelly to salsa and brandied apricots. They had spiced peaches- cranberry sauce- sun dried fruits..... all sorts of tasty things. We would literally buy cases of them to give as gifts! We even took a jam class one fall. They have totally switched gears and the only reason I am giving them two stars is because the woman who was in the gift shop was so personable and nice. I believe her name was Maria Green- so if you are there when she is, your visit will be a pleasant one. HOWEVER- and it is a big however- I noticed the jam was packaged differently and if you look at the labels you can see that some of it is no longer even made there! It seems there were packaging issues (even though there had never been an actual problem with their original packaging) and until they have things sorted out they are farming the jam making process out. The items sold in the gift shop are extremely limited as it has been downsized and moved into a much tinier space. So while the hostess in the gift shop gets five stars- Green Briar itself gets zero. It's a shame......

Would not put this jam on my sandwich!
jul de 2019
We were excited to stop here because we love jam but agree with a previous reviewer. Nobody acknowledged us and there was only one sample. Jam overpriced. Only a few animals at the nature center. Waste of time.

REPTILE SHOW
ago de 2019 • Família
I took my 16 year old son, 6 year old granddaughter and 5 year old grandson over to the nature center for a reptile show! It was great! Every one of them thoroughly enjoyed it. It was great for all ages! There’s plenty of parking . We ate members there so the price was right for this show! They have all kinds of wonder programs for kids and adults, hiking trails, and a beautiful spot by the water to just sit and enjoy the moment!

Nice Spot
ago de 2019 • Família
Growing up locally, never been there and it was in the list of touristy things to do. Hot day, 3 kids in tow. There are a few rescued pets in one building and a small
Museum, library and gift shop in another, and then a historic, working jam kitchen. Grounds are lovely. Looks as if they have lots of kids and adults programs, none going on the day we stopped. We spent about an hour exploring the grounds and buildings, had a little picnic at the tables and took off. Kids had fun checking out the animals and other artifacts while everyone took turns using the very clean restrooms and we all recharged in the AC for a bit. They also found a great old
Oak tree by the river to climb and had a blast with that.

We visited today and were the only people there. The first building we came to from the main parking lot didn’t have a single employee but a few rabbits, turtles, snake in cages. We moved on to the next building which was the jam kitchen. We walked in with no greeting. A young, heavyset girl grunted hello but that was it. She did not try to engage us in any way and because of her manner, made us uncomfortable to ask questions. We are visitors and just happened upon the place so had no idea what there was to do on the property. We picked a few jams to purchase and she acted as if we were interfering with her day. I asked if she had tissue paper to wrap around the jar as I placed it into the bag so that it didn’t break on the the plane and she just handed me one piece. I really shouldn’t have had to ask. We then wandered towards the back of the rooms to see what else was there (the library) and passed an older woman at her desk who never looked up. We left because we felt so out of place. I honestly can’t think of a single reason to visit this odd place except to maybe take a jam making class (we did see the classroom). Hopefully the jam teachers actually have a personality. We regretted even buying anything since we left with such an uneasy feeling.
