This sprawling 220-acre (91 ha) town park afforded seven miles (11.2 km) of trails that sometimes looped through woods and across fields. Parking was in a large dirt lot on North Road. A map kiosk was at the trailhead. Named trails were clearly marked. They included several wooden bridges. Surfaces varied from compact earth to forest floor. Grades were easy. I found no scenic vistas. One highlight was a small seasonal waterfall. Another highlight was springtime wildflowers in bloom. Bird watching was good on the less heavily used loops. Trail users included dog-walkers and runners. There were no public rest facilities. I liked all that I found here, except for the ticks and other insect pests.

I really enjoyed my walk. It was peaceful, full of all different bird sounds & wi d rustling in the trees. The trails were clearly marked & were safe underfoot. Will definately go again! The only insect I encountered was 1 lone mosquito.

Ok, I can't give this place 5 stars because it is poorly marked, we got lost several times--until we found a new entrance off Ledge Road--and then it's sketchy. Full of ticks, and dead ends, the dogs loved it, but I wasn't so happy about finding so many ticks on us ! Nice running water under the funky bridges, lots of muddy streams, detours, fields, and views of the power lines. Until they decide to mark it better, we will be hiking elsewhere......

This pleasant 220-acre (91 ha) expanse of woods and fields has more than seven miles (11.2 km) of trails. Parking is in a dirt lot via a gate off North Road. The lot has a trailhead kiosk. Many trails are loops. Some trails explore open meadows full of wildflowers; most penetrate dense woodlands. The trails are for walking, not for bicycling or motor vehicles. Some trails are better marked than others. Most trails cross brooks on bridges; some lack bridges at water crossings. One trail leads to a small, seasonal waterfall. We met several persons out walking dogs and saw signs of recent rogue bicyclists. Bring a camera, bug dope, and water. We most liked the trails’ varied terrain and the fields of wildflowers. We least liked the need to dope up against ticks.
