Free and open to the public

The inside was pretty. We walked the grounds outside as well and read the different plaques. Spent about 30 mins here. Nice and peaceful.

Enchanting stained glass.
ago de 2021
I especially love the stained glass here (see pics). I always visit St. Anne's wheneve I'm in Kennebunkport - such a beautiful chapel in a serene setting.

Beautiful, historic stone church
ago de 2021
This lovely stone Episcopal Church was built in 1892 overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and Kennebunk River. Its sea washed stone exterior and interior are unique and make for a very special chapel. The Bush family attends services frequently at this church when they are in town. It is a lovely setting, even if you only sit out on the lawn to enjoy the view.

Really nice setting. The views of the water are wonderful. The church is worthwhile to check out. We saw this on the Inline trolley tour

Why so angry?! Isn’t this a church?
ago de 2021 • Casais
Perhaps timing is everything We arrived on foot on the Monday of the civic holiday
There were 2 gates with signs saying Closed
On the other gate it said Private Function
However the gates were pushed to the side as if that was for another time
Some angry white man approached us angrily and asked if we couldn’t read etc
I said that the signs were pushed to the side so it looked as if it was for another time
He even more angrily confronted us and I said to him that he needn’t be so mean I mean isn’t this a church?
Such a turn off
Other people were confused about the signage
Perhaps if they had a nicer person closer to the entrance to gently tell people to not venture forth that would be better
His behaviour was appaling

Worth a visit
ago de 2021 • Família
We loved seeing this site in Maine. It’s a gem in Kennebunkport. A unique smell inside of mint proved how historical it was. They put real shells in their stained glass windows. Try to catch a Sunday church service in this unique spot. 8:00 & 10:00.

Beautiful Church with Scenic View
jun de 2021 • Família
Had no expectations when we arrived, just had seen it on Trip Advisor and decided to stop. Beautiful stone masonry makes it a unique building. The views of the Atlantic were beautiful. I would recommend not standing on the wall. They had staffers walking around enforcing the rule. There are signs, but apparently I have bunch of rule breaking teens in my family. A 15 minute stop to see what you need to see, well worth it.

Beautiful, different looking church, great views

Beautiful, different looking church, great views! You don't need to be a fan of churches or the Bushes to appreciate this uniquely pretty spot. Very serene and the glass windows in the church are brightly colored. Worth a stop.

A Beautiful Spot on the Ocean. A little heaven on earth!
jul de 2021 • Casais
Saint Ann’s By The Sea and grounds are stunning and beautiful. It’s right on Ocean Avenue in Kennebunkport - between the Colony Beach snd Walker Point (George and Barbara Bush family residence ). You can walk there along the beach and Ocean Avenue or easily drive there.

The grounds are beautiful as you enter through the iron gates.

Plentiful free parking inside along the sea wall (except when church is in service or a wedding is occurring ). Check out the beautiful 1887 old stone chapel - made with large stones just a few feet away on the sea shore. Beautiful stained glass windows. Usually the doors are open to visitors. No admission fee and there is normally a complimentary history booklet in a basket as you enter the front door below the bell tower. It’s a Summer Church - open for services June thru September, and normally the church is open for guests throughout the year.

There is a historic house on the property that serves as the rectory during the summer, as well as the old garage and a beautiful flower garden that is accessible to all.

Walk along the sea wall that goes all the way around the point. Truly amazing views!

There is also a large outdoor chapel literally on the sea wall, that is built on the remnants of a Fort from 1819, that protected the old harbor.

Enjoy! It’s beautiful here and is normally one of the top attractions in Maine.
