Lovely historic mansion with beautiful grounds that slope gently to the water’s edge. We didn't have time to go inside, and still we were glad we stopped.

This was a very pleasant surprise, spur of the moment stop. I love flowering gardens and this time of year in February we hadn’t seen anything blooming until here today!

We love old home tours so decided to try this. Lovely gardens of azaleas and camellias along with a educational walk identifying trees and shrubs. Enjoyed learning some history with the home tour. A delightful stroll and afternoon.

A nice little state park, with lovely grounds to walk through we stopped in here while exploring the 30A area. It was self-service at the front area for payment to get in. The trees, flowers and manicured grounds are really beautiful. We did not go into the historic home, but the gift shop which is attached was surprisingly self service as well. There were some folks having picnics on the grounds, and a woman making some flower arrangements. Clearly this park is a favorite of the locals.

Enjoyable, low-key visit. We took the mansion tour that was high on praising the beautiful furniture but short on details and context of the original family and the lady who bought and renovated the home. Why did the Wesleys come here? Where did their nine kids go? What was the extent of their businesses and what would they be worth today? And Ms. Maxon: no mention that she was a writer, why she had come to the area, where she got the furniture, or the cost of her renovations in today's dollars. The home was decorated for the holidays, including some bright pink unicorns on the girls bedroom which were sure out of place given the setting. Gift shop had a table for local honey for sale ... that was empty? Oh well. Interesting nevertheless. The grounds were a pleasure to tour: wildlife information down by the bayou, the dramatic wedding tree, a numbered nature tour we didn't know about until after, camellias about to bloom in a meandering garden, and a nature trail. We had a snack beforehand in one of the sheltered pavilions. Glad we saw the mansion, even if the tour fell short. Would happily return with a picnic and enjoy another stroll on the grounds.

The park was beautiful and clean. Nice place for taking pretty pictures. We had a picnic here after walking on the trails. The bathrooms were very clean. We didn't take a tour of the house but it was beautiful from the outside.

We wanted to go to Grayton Beach State Park, but the park was full. We searched for a nearby alternative and were so glad we found Eden Gardens. The park is peaceful and beautiful. We had a tailgate picnic lunch and really enjoyed the afternoon under the beautiful moss covered shade trees. I would definitely recommend putting this on your list when you want a change from the beach.

Beautiful peaceful setting amongst the live oaks and Camilla gardens. Unusually cold temperatures limited the time outdoors and covid cancelled the festival. Take the mansion tour if possible to appreciate the history of the land.

The house and gardens are so pretty with Spanish moss hanging from the live oaks. There’s a hiking trail with overlooks of the lake . They have tons of Camilla bushes and they were in bloom very pretty to see. The house is interesting to tour.

This is an absolutely beautiful spot. The grounds are maintained perfectly and despite the "winter" look they still impressed. We will have to return during the blooming season the really appreciate the entire park. Due to Covid restrictions, we could not tour the house. It is a beautiful building and apparently well maintained.

Yes, it costs $4 per person for the home tour. There is also an entrance fee for the park which is $4 per car and pay by honor system. The grounds are open all year but on Tuesdays and Wednesdays the house is closed.

Which is the best day and time to visit in March and April

In general, Early March will have the magnolia and other flowers in bloom through April. However, March also brings visits from college students on their spring breaks (many southeastern colleges party in the panhandle). Lodging, hospitality and other services have higher prices and longer than usual wait times. I haven't found these "partiers" crowding the park. Photographs in the early or evening hours are the most dramatic...home tours...plan on no tours during their lunch break(only one or two people work the house area). Weekdays are less crowded. Many restaurants (within 10 mi.) have weekday specials after 3:00/Happy Hours.

I am sorry I have never been during March or April but honestly I would think anytime between 10am & 3pm. You can look online under Edens Gardens State Park in FL & I am sure you will find all kinds of information. That is how I found out about the Park. When we were there the guided tours were Thursday-Monday. From between 10 to 3. It is a gorgeous park.
