Loved the fish and chips -- the fish was air fried (not sure about the fries). Fun location, great music.

We saw the sign on the main street, and we were intrigued, so we went around the corner in search of it. We opened the door to find an interesting dive bar with dollar bills and band posters covering the walls and ceiling. We found everyone to be friendly, and they had a nice range of beers. They also appear to have live music.

A great Local Hangout. Good folks. Good Beer Good bar food. Pretty small so it gets a little crowded. Nice outside place to sit down. Live music and Karaoke. We always stop in when in Mariposa. Super fun place!

I LOVE THIS PLACE! A map search and good reviews led us to the Hideout Saloon - aptly named since it’s hidden off the main drag. We went down some steps and into a rough hewn, stone wall establishment buzzing with bar banter from the half dozen regulars. We were greeted and seated in a cozy corner nook where we enjoyed looking at the musical memorabilia adorning the walls between the artsy dollar bills decorated by past patrons. The waiter was polite and friendly and informed me that the tap beer list was displayed on a chalkboard by the bar. Hanna, the bar tender, brought a sample snifter to our table and took the time to find out our names and ask about our travels. The Rueben we ordered was top notch and found out it was the home made sauce that was the secret. The dill pickles were also home made and were some of the best I’ve tasted. We learned that whatever could be was made in house and locally sourced.

We decided to come back the following night. The waiter remembered us and Hanna greeted us by name. We decided to split a build your own pizza. While enjoying a potent porter the chef came to our table and asked “Do you like bacon?” He then explained that adding bacon would qualify the pizza for one of the set menu offerings and save us a couple of bucks. After chatting with him a few minutes and getting the history of the place he retreated to the kitchen. The pizza was great, enhanced by the three types of mushrooms we had learned about from our waiter. We came off season and dined about fiveish, so the dining area was not crowded and we were made to feel like we were regulars. The staff was genuinely friendly and welcoming and gave the place a homey feeling. The food was excellent with creative tweaks. I highly recommend the Hideout Saloon.
LOVE THIS PLACE! My wife and I were looking for a casual dining spot where I could also get a good drink after navigating the winding two lane highway to Meriposa in the dark. A map search and good reviews led us to the Hideout Saloon - aptly named since it’s hidden off the main drag. We went down some steps and into a rough hewn, stone wall establishment buzzing with bar banter from the half dozen regulars and a George Thoughergood tune playing on the digital juke box. We were greeted and seated in a cozy corner nook where we enjoyed looking at the musical memorabilia adorning the walls between the artsy dollar bills decorated by past patrons. The waiter was polite and friendly and informed me that the tap beer list was displayed on a chalkboard by the bar. It’s snug at the bar so I had to rub elbows with the locals who gave me their take on the dozen or so offerings. Hanna, the bar tender, brought a sample snifter to our table and took the time to find out our names and ask about our travels. My wife and I pulled the old retiree trick of splitting a main and a starter. The Rueben we ordered was top notch and found out it was the home made sauce that was the secret. The dill pickles were also home made and were some of the best I’ve tasted. We learned that whatever could be was made in house and locally sourced.

Fantastic drinks, outstanding service, and solidly good food. The bartender not only made great margaritas, but he was able to manage the customers well. We heard him deny an obviously drunk woman another drink unless she had a ride home. Impressive. I’m thankful that they had gluten free options.
I’m a fan .

The menu has many wonderful choices and the crew always makes the dining experience the better. The Calzonez and Stromboli is the best I've ever eaten. It takes a few minutes longer but worth the wait. Lots of Craft beers to choose from on tap.

Good food, great beers, friendly service. Was planning to hit another place I had been at before. It was “unexpectedly closed” and this place was highly rated. It was open for patio dining. Great choice. Nice list of beers on tap ( good wine list but I choose a local IPA). Service was friendly and attentive. The Reuben was outstanding Every bit as good as the Carnegie Deli or Stumpy’s in Buffalo. Well worth the trip

Went there with my wife for a few drinks while staying next door in the Mariposa Inn. Lovely friendly staff. Music was by Kurt Groover and his band and they were so nice. I was given his cd and a signed copy of the playlist. Very nice people. The bar staff were so nice, I stuck a five pound Irish euro note to the wall too. It’s the thing to do. Hope to return someday.

A small tucked away bar with a great atmosphere and range of beers. A nice mix of friendly locals and visitors. Apparently open 365 days a year until 2 am! Learned a lot about local history here - assume it was all true!

This is a bar that can only sell beer and wine, no hard liquor. It is a dive bar, but can be fun if you are looking to listen to music and have a beer.
