Make sure you take and have the time for this adventure. We only had a few hours, so we focused on climbing to the vista point, about a mile, up. Pickup a map and plot your trip. No shade, so a 50-60 degree day is ideal. There are a couple rather steep areas but stopping is encouraged for the views.

There was a awesome viewpoint less than a mile UP. When you go up to the viewpoint you can view the short from both sides. When going up got tough the ranger suggested, stop and look a the view and he was right!.

The Adventure Buddies went for a beautiful hike at Jenner Headlands to see the incredible Sonoma County coastline. Great place to get good photos, fresh air, exercise or have a picnic and relax. Whether it’s sunrise or sunset so pretty!

Great alternative to the nearby State Parks that are not dog-friendly. Easy to follow, well-marked trails.

Amazing coastal views on the Sea to Sky trail! We went up to the first plateau where there is a viewing telescope where you can see for miles and miles. We intended to loop around on the Raptor trail to complete the 4.5 mile loop, except I discovered that my key was no longer in my pocket. We trekked back down to discover a fellow hiker had found the key and propped it in plain view atop a fence post! So we trekked up the Raptor side a bit which was a bit wet, but amazingly different flora and fauna. Didn't complete the loop, but saw some great scenery and raptors sailing on the clear sky. Thank you to the Good Samaritan who found our key and saved our day!!

Several miles of trails on acreage that overlooks the Pacific. Difficulty ranges from easy (relatively flat) to difficult (a lot of up hill). Be prepared for ticks. So nice to see this entire area is now protected.

Great trail out among the coastal hillside. We took the raptor trail up then connected with the sea to sky trail back down. 4.5mile loop route. We consider easy to moderate. A 1000' gain but you meander through pasture with hawks, Falcons, cows, wild turkeys, quail, and a sunning rattle snake. Great views to pt. Reyes south to fort Ross north. Truley enjoyable hike and kid friendly. On the sea to sky trail about a mile in, there is a stop for an overlook view with mounted telescope. This would be a great spot for young kids hike. There are more hikes to choose from. We went on a Monday, we saw 1 person on the trail. Very few cars. Nice vault bathrooms and a picnic area. Be aware there is no shade on a hot windless day.

Really beautiful views of the Pacific as you hike through several different hillside environments. Trails from moderate to difficult. Nice steep climb so be in shape. The reward for your efforts will be breathtaking views of the coast and hillsides.

BRING WATER. I had to provide extra to two groups of unprepared hikers. You will need plenty and there is none available on the hike.

We hiked the Sea to Sky Trail recently. It is a beautiful hike but very long and much of it is steep. We started at 8:15AM and finished our return at 5:45PM. Of course, it could be done more quickly but the distance is at least 15 miles. The last couple of miles are exposed and on a sunny day it can be warm. Bring plenty of water. There is a shady creek about half way along which is a nice place for a break and would be a good half way point to head back the same way or using another nearby trail if you didn't want to go all the way to Pole Mountain. Great views from the summit of Pole Mountain.

You won't see many other hikers. We encountered two after the initial couple of miles.

There are several shorter hikes here and all offer wonderful views of the coast.
