Beautiful trail, not terribly difficult. There are stunning views overlooking Palm Springs. It’s also fun to see the Bob Hope house.

Hiked the Araby trail with friends. The ascent is not too steep. The trail is narrow, and the footing can be a little rough. The reward is great views of the valley, and of course a great look at the famous hike once owned by Bob Hope.

The Araby Trail leads to two houses. om the left that was the house of Bob hope in the past.
We had fun and enjoyed the views as well.
When we arrived near Bob's house, we felt happy.
There were mountains and nice views.
This is a must see!

This is a relatively short hike with fast elevation gains. It is about 3.5 miles and once at the top, you can get spectacular views of the valley. One of the best things is that you can have a glimpse of the original Bob Hope home that looks like a round saucer shape. Bring water as it can get fairly hot and humid since there is little shade and coverage on the trail.

It wasn't hard to find the Araby Trail. Where we parked it showed how to get there.
Next we saw wan RV park, we walked on the higher trail.
At times the hike was small when two parties passed each other , but it worked.
We saw lots of palm trees.
We did saw Bob hope's house. It is the one at the top.
There is another beautiful house as well.
We came back down all happy.
Worthwhile to see!

Not many cars for parking in area by trail head. Pretty easy trail up and can get some nice views of Bob Hope's home. The trail branches at the top branches out to other trails but we decided to go down the same way. There were plenty of other hikers but not too crowded. Was somewhat strange to hike past homes in the first 1/4 mile of the hike. Overall, the hike was moderate.

Our second ever Palm Springs Hike totally delivered. Moderately challenging, cool views of the city with lots to see (flora, fauna, mansions, trailer parks)

This is a fairly rigorous trail which rewards with great views of the house that once belonged to Bob Hope. Very convenient location of trailhead

For a close-in location and easy access hiking this is a great place. The beginning of the hike is just above a massive, funky and retro trailer park which is in and of itself quite interesting. Further along the trail it certainly has beautiful panoramic views of the hills and the cityscape, it seems a good place to see the sunset. Easy access, interesting architecture of the housing up above the trail and mild terrain.

The "Dogs Prohibited" signs are for your dog's protection. Usually it means that there are wild animals that might want to eat your dog in the area. The last thing you want is to watch your beloved pet carried off and eaten by a mountain lion or coyote (we have LOTS of coyotes in the area).

There are Big Horned Sheep in the area and they don't want dogs disturbing them.

Hi - You wrote that it took 2 hours to go up and back on the Araby Trail. Was it a total of 2 hours or 2 hours each way. Your response is greatly appreciated as we are trying to plan our day. Does this trail have a fee?

Hi there - no fees on the trail. We did the loop and it took 3.5 hours for the whole thing. So you could walk up one side and down the same side probably in close to 2 hours. Palm Springs hiking book is what we followed.
