We had a great time at the Sirena station as an amazing support to allow us to enjoy Corcovado park for 2 days.
The food was amazing, all the staff/rangers are super friendly, there is coffee and snacks available. The organization of the station makes it that you never feel like surrounded by many people or crowds.
The facilities were clean and as comfortable as expected in the jungle.
Great experience !

Spectacular beds, very comfortable and surrounded by nature. With mosquito net, not a bite, shared bathrooms but with constant cleaning. 100% recommended.

During our 1½ day Wildlife Adventure with Jose Garro Salazar (Pacheco Tours) exploring Corcovado National Park we had the good fortune to stay overnight in La Sirena Ranger Station.
This involves mosquito netted bunk beds well sheltered from the rain but not insulated from the sound of night time forest noises 🐒🦜🦥🦅 Amazing.
Considering how isolated this place is, it's a good 1 hour boat ride from civilization and there is ZERO mobile data coverage, one of the most impressive discoveries here is the quality and quantity of the food they serve in their restaurant, some of the best I've eaten in my time here in Costa Rica. I couldn't resist complementing the kitchen staff 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🤩🥳
Stay the night you'll love it !!!!!

The accommodation is pretty basic, but the nature around it is just everything. There are so many animals, you cannot believe it! You have to spend at least one night here to really experience Corcovado. This is everything and the park is the best place in Costa Rica.

My family, my wife myself and my 17 year old daughter, recently spent a day and a half at the Sirena Biological Field Station in Costa Rica’s Corcovado National Park. Our amazing experience was greatly enhanced by our incredibly accomplished, bilingual guide Carlos Madrigal. Carlos is a highly skilled, personable and enthusiastic interpreter of Corcovado’s natural world. It was because of Carlos’s determined efforts that we were able to encounter a myriad of wildlife, including tapir, javelina, sloth, tamandua, bats and a stunning multitude of bird species. Carlos through his keen eyes and his deft manipulation of our iPhone cameras against his Swarovski spotting scope was able to bring small, barely visible avian images into full and stunning focus. At the end of our time together when it looked as if our pick up in Puerto Jimenez was delayed, Carlos was gracious enough to call our next destination to make sure that they were on track to meet us. We heartily recommend Carlos Madrigal. If anyone is looking for a guide for any of Osa’s natural areas there is no one better than Carlos Madrigal.

Very nice and clean place to stay overnight in Corcovado. Great food. And an amazing opportunity to sleep with the sounds of the forest!

Wow Wow Wow
This was an incredible experience, as part of a tour booked with Sukia Travel we were doing this as part of a wider trip (which was part of a wider tour of Costa Rica) and this stood as the pinnacle of our trip and possibly of any of our trips!
The accommodation is kind of what you would expect from the pictures bunk beds in dorms with Mozi nets and the wildlife is everywhere. We went at the start of the wetter season although were dry for the majority of our trip but had been told for wildlife this was an ideal time.
We were not disappointed. Our ranger Stephen was awesome, informative and had a lot of passion for the Osa and Corcovado. We went with high hopes of seeing a wide variety of the intense biologically divers wildlife and were blown away - there are always other things you could see but we hit so many that we could not have been happier, secure in the knowledge we would have opportunities later in our trip to see any we missed. We were in a small group of two couples so this felt like a private tour and afforded us the advantages of a small group of similarly minded people - our co companions were from Holland and it certainly helped we got on.
Neither myself nor my wife are ornithologists and yet we were stunned by the beauty and diversity of the birds, getting close enough for photos and our guide able to call to them and spot even the most challenging spot,
I am keen on all wildlife from insects and arachnids to mammals and sea life so was in Heaven seeing spiders and insects in such colours you could not believe, Spotting a family of Tapirs being stalked by a crocodile, being accosted by a troop of Coatis and seeing the four species of monkeys in huge numbers. Getting to see a 3 metre long tiger rat snake, a selection of owls and bats, the list is long. travelling around the walks climbing into a hollowed out tree (Only myself and the guide fancied that one).
If you get the opportunity to experience this - Do. Anyone questioning whether it is worth the effort to get there, I would build a trip around this. The only think I would say is this probably ruined Tortugeuro for us as it could not live up to this despite being incredible in its own right.
Would make a bee line back if it was ever an opportunity too,
The journey there from Drakes bay was pretty hard core on the boat like wise on the way back but was 100% worth it - if you get sea sick I would highly recommend a travel sickness tablet ahead of the trip.
Be warned no snacks, treats or similar can be bought to Corcovado - bags get searched, Any rubbish is also asked to be returned to Drakes so be warned. Also you may wish to take your own towel as you need to hire one (We missed the opportunity so had to improvise)
There are lockers which are available and you can hire wellies - I am not a fan but it meant we could stomp around although there were people not using them, I felt it was worth it to be able to get to those harder to reach spots with out being ankle deep in mud and helped get those shots where a bit of off trail exploration was required!
I'd love to be able to share all the photos but die to limits on TA it's a snap shot at best!

Hi. I will be staying at Drake Bay and have already booked a day trip to Corcovado. However, I would like to overnight at Sirena Station but the hotel I am staying at is not able to organise this. Could someone please recommend a company or group that would be able to make the arrangements for us to be able to do this.
Feita em 10 de abril de 2019
We used Surcostours and they did a very nice job. There should be others if they are not available. There are advance timing requirements for arranging permits and they do have limited space, so you should start process as soon as you are able!

Hiya. We've been looking into jungle treks and want to stay overnight at the ranger station. However, a guide we contacted said it's not worth staying over and we should just do day treks. What are your thoughts? How much more wildlife are we likely to see by staying over compared to just doing day treks? Is it worth the extra money? Cheers

how do I book a stay to overnight at Sirena sometime between Jan 25-30th 2018?

how do you go about booking Sirena Station? My husband and I are going to be in Drake Bay from Jan 25-30 2018 and would like to do a one or two/night overnighter. I cannot figure out how to book it!!!

Is staying at Sirena Station a wilderness experience? Or is it a noisy big campground full of people and everyone walking on the same crowded trails all day?
Want to experience Corcovado wildlife and wilderness but not feel like I'm on a boyscout trip with 50 campers.
Trying to figure out if we want to go for a 1-2 night overnight there via Drake or if hiking around and staying in Los Brazos tent camp would be more of nature experience.
Your experience is appreciated!
