This excursion provided a lifetime experience I will never forget. Rainer is the absolute best person in Costa Rica. He never tired of my questions, getting me information for the tours and providing top notch customer service.
The monkey tour is a must see and must do. They are so interactive and entertaining. Randy kept us entertained on the 45 minute ride from Jaco to get to the monkeys.
Maurelo was the perfect guide for our waterfall hike. Closed toed water shoes are a must. This is strenuous and leaves you feeling so accomplished. I looked up at one of the waterfalls and as I was thinking there is no way we are getting up there but we did and it was incredibly breathtaking. The jeep ride to start the hike is a fun experience in itself. Both tours are well worth the money and it would be sad if you chose not to do it.

Me, my husband and 12 year-old son, took both the Monkey Tour and the Waterfall Tour and both were incredible, once in a lifetime experiences! Ranier and Japhet (sp?) are so gracious and informative and it is clear that they love what they do. We are so thankful to have met these wonderful people! This is the only place we visited that let you feed and interact with the monkeys and it is just an amazing experience - like nothing else we have ever done and will likely ever do. You MUST do the monkey tour!

We did the monkey tour as a family. This was such a memorable experience for our 5 year old. Our tour guide was knowledgeable, friendly and fun. He was well prepared and great with kids. The monkeys came to him easily and then to us. The drive was not too far from Jaco and it was a lovely town to visit with good food and great scenic views. Thank you for the experience.

The 3 hour trip was hands down the best excursion I have done in any country! Jafeth was the best tour guide! He was kind, caring, and very knowledgeable. The owners are also very kind and showed so much hospitality. I would come back to Costa Rica just for this tour! 100/10 recommend.

When we arrived, Randy told us the 3-hour waterfall hike was very demanding, but we assured him we exercise regularly and could do it. Our two companions and our guides Cindy and Maurelo didn't know how old we were until we got back! They showed us the way, kept us safe and took great photos along the way, which they shared via AirDrop no extra charge. The most treacherous parts had steps that were well marked and ropes to help you make your way up. Maurelo made jumps off rocks at two of the falls. Our youngest fellow hiker made the same jumps. Midway they treated us to sweet sweet ripe pineapple, and at the end, Costa Rican coffee and cookies. We left around 10 am and returned well ahead of the rains that start every day around 3 pm in July. Can't recommend this highly enough.

My wife and I stumbled upon this gem of a tour, our tour guide Jeffete was amazing, he took us on the Monkey tour and it was better than we could have expected, he was so knowledgeable and took his time with us, first tour ever that we did not feel rushed, he explained everything in detail he is an amazing young man. After we returned from the Monkey's we then took a waterfall tour with him and Coco, another incredible experience, they took their time to explain trees, plants, flowers, and made this tour the best we have ever taken. Thank You!!!!!!!!!!

My mother and I did the short waterfall experience. All the staff was so helpful, spoke great English and were very knowledgeable. Our guides shared so much information and helped my mom arrive safely to the waterfalls. To get to the waterfall you have to take a adventurous jeep/truck ride! So much fun!

This hike is moderate to fierce but so very worth it. The guide was so informative and let us take our time and move at our own pass to rest when needed. He even carried our cameras in his water proof bag and toted water and pineapple up for us as snacks!

We took two tours with Neofauna - the short waterfall tour and the monkey tour. Both tours were extremely fun and informative. The waterfalls are lovely and you can take a dip so bring your suit! There was sweet and delicious fresh pineapple provided to snack on right beside the waterfall. The monkeys were just perfect. The significant time spent with them allows you to see their unique personalities. There was even a tiny baby clinging to its mothers back! Our guide, Randy, made us feel comfortable and both experiences were authentic and didn’t feel commercial or too “touristy.” Rainier and Cindy are also very warm and intelligent people and everyone we met at Neofauna cares deeply for the animals and ecology of Costa Rica.

Neofauna offers multiple different excursions. They have a monkey tour and two waterfall tours, and maybe others. Of the two waterfall tours, one of them is 3-4 hours and you see 10 waterfalls, and the other is 1.5 hours and you see two waterfalls. The staff and tour guides are nice and thoughtful. We were fortunate enough to have Javed as our guide and he was so nice, helped us throughout the hike. You can drive to the main little office where you will discuss your options and pay. Then they take you on a little 4x4 jeep deeper into the waterfall areas. The price for the 10 waterfall hike was 65$ USD per person.
The 10 waterfall hike is the one we did, it takes about 3-4 hours. Water shoes IS A MUST. We stumbled upon this hike while in Jaco just randomly as we were looking up things to do. We did not have water shoes and areas along this hike require you to submerege in water, there is no way around it, so our hiking shoes were ruined. We did enjoy this hike but BEWARE, NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART. This hike is difficult, stepping over rocks and climbing up the side of multiple waterfalls using a rope and it is dangerous. You truly need to be physically strong and not scared or else you will 100% ask to turn around.
Having said that we enjoyed seeing the waterfalls and felt like we conquered a difficult hike. The views of the landscape were great. The staff was great. At the nicer waterfalls they give you time to enjoy the water and even cut up pineapples for you to enjoy.

I went there twice. Feb and March. 2016. I believe it was around 25 to 30 dollars per person. I can't remember exactly. However, it is worth every dollar! It takes in rainforest animals,that are rescued. They have done an amazing job, it is a great experience while in Costa Rica. I found it better than Man Antonio, and Carrera. Also, check out the Tarcoles River Tours. Call NeoFauna or email them. Ask for Sterling. Enjoy!.

Do you get to pet a monkey? Do they really put a treefrog on you? Like in the pictures. My kids want that experience.

The chance of having a monkey on you vs. a treefrog are two completely different tours. During our actual tour of the butterfly farm we were able to hold some of the non venomous frogs and toads. As well my daughter and I held a snake together (totally harmless and awesome experience) As for the monkeys, we booked a separate tour though them for this. For about 60 USD/adult and half that for a 7 year old we followed them in our own vehicle up close to Puntarenas. Btw, it would be more expensive if they have to pick you up and shuttle you. It was a very cool experience. We had monkeys all over us, from head to toes. That being said, the entire duration with the monkeys was maybe just over and hour or so. So it definitely was pricey, but memorable at the same time!
