There is not much here. The truck ride up the volcano is fun and the 1.5 hour hike around the cone at the top was a delight. Little English spoken. If you are prepared to get a local taxi, you can do this trip without a tour company at significantly less cost.

My sister and I booked this half day tour through Viator before we left for Nicaragua and I'm happy to report that all went smoothly. The driver from Yupi tours arrived at our hotel in Granada promptly at 9:00 a.m. and brought us to the Nature Reserve where the large jeep brought our group up to the cloud forest at the top of the crater. Our guide was named Nestor and he did such a fantastic job pointing out all the different plants and features of the nature surrounding our hiking path. We even got lucky enough to see a sloth! We loved this tour and from start to finish all the people involved were top notch professionals. Highly recommend!
