It's my favourite foodcourt in Bangkok. I guess only seasoned Bangkok dwellers and expats know about it because it's inside the building, so on your way there it's easy to get distracted by the many pop-up restaurants located outside that open all around the building starting at 4 p.m. Once you are inside, you walk along the many food stalls, and I always find it hard to choose because I basically want to try everything. I always end up ordering 2 or even 3 dishes. Prices are very affordable: expect to pay around 50 baht for a dish.

Ate here several times during our stay in Bangkok, it’s well worth looking for the indoor street food stalls, look for lots of tables in rows with blue plastic table cloths, lots of Thai people eat here which is a really good sign. If you are new to a Thai street food don’t be put off by the basic nature of the surroundings; the stalls have pictures and they mainly have the title of the dish in English, but you can just point at the picture of what you fancy, the stall holder will advise if you need rice as a side dish, but you always check. Most of the stall holders we went to spoke enough English to tell you if the dish was hot or not hot. All the stalls we tried were great, but at the end furthest from the main entrance there was a lovely family stall where the lady wears an apron and chefs cap style hat! We went to her stall twice at the start of our two week visit in Thailand, and she remembered us when we returned on our last day, greeting us like old friends! You can sit anywhere so it’s ok to get different food from different stalls, you can take your own water with you from the supermarket, or you can get beer, fresh coconut and some soft drinks from stalls near the entrance of the market! Would highly recommend it!

Was sagt man dazu?!

Located behind the Shangri-La, and in a neighborhood that seemed very safe to be out in at night, we stopped in for a local dinner and a walk down this interesting street. It is definitely a place to visit at night and it closes up for mornings and just begins to open for lunch. Queen of Curry was recommended by the hotel for dinner and was great but so were the stalls for authentic street food.

Discovered the eating hall and all the street stalls when walking around the area near Saphan Taksin BTS station.
There are numerous places to get great tasty Thai food and cold Chang beer all for very low prices.
When we were here there were plenty of local people eating which is usually a sign of good food at reasonable prices.
Enjoy the atmosphere while your in Bangkok.

Bangkok has surpassed Singapore with high quality, clean street food. Bangkok Bazaar packs in the locals and some cautious foreigners into a small pocket (two streets, on a T intersection) a street back from the river. One waiter spoke English and was really helpful. Locals eat here and every time I went, it was packed. Be adventurous.
