Ľahký až stredne ťažký výstup na nádherný Gerlachovský štít. Štart - Sliezsky dom - hore nad vodopády. Lezie sa s vodcom, priviazaní v sedákoch k sebe. Pre prvovýstup týmto štýlom dosť nezvyklý pocit. Nádherné výhľady, zážitok z lezenia, istenia v okách, veľa lezenia po “kramliach”. Zostup náročnejší ako výstup. Minimálne pre posledného na lane 🙈
Stojí to za to.

I visited the mountain in January 2020. and used the services of Mountainpro guides . Peter was my guide and really helped me at every stage whether it was some help with the equipment or extra reassurance. We had a mixture of some sun but also some strong winds .

We wanted to visit the High Tatras from the UK and do some hill walking & trekking. Specifically, we planned to hike Gerlachovsky stit (2655m) and Mt Rysy (2503m). We needed a guide and turned to Mountain ProGuiding. This proved an excellent choice. Our point of contact, by email and phone, was Katarina, who was efficient, courteous and professional throughout. She teamed us up with Peter for Gerlachovsky stit, and with Tibor for Mt Rysy. Both were excellent guides, with a great knowledge of the mountains. They set a pace that suited, read the weather excellently, kept us safe throughout, and got us to the top of both peaks (and down again) without drama. We really enjoyed both climbs which were very satisfying, and we owe a big thank you to Mountain ProGuiding for making it all happen.

Challenging (especially on the way down), but very doable with reasonable fitness and an ability to handle heights. You would be crazy to attempt without a guide as the route is not obvious. I did it with daughter and without rushing it took us 8 hours

You have got to be fit to get up there. You need to book your guide and it costs £125. You can get it down to £85 if it`s three of you plus a guide. It is worth your every penny. The views from the Peak are absolutely breath taking. You are overlooking Slovakia on the South side and Poland on the North side of the peak. I cannot describe in words how peaceful and relaxing it is up there. You also need to have a proper gear to get there. The guide will not allow you to go there in your every day Adidas trainers :)

A friend and I climbed the Gerlachovsky Stit on 12 June, 2017. We hired a guide through Mountain Pro Guiding and were glad we did. The weather was perfect, Tibor, our guide, was excellent, and we had an unforgettable experience matched by sensational views.

Gerlach is a special mountain. The high point of Slovakia, high point of the Tatra Mountains and whole Carpathians. It's a huge mountain massif with two impressive routes designed for tourist with a high mountain UIAGM/IVBV guide and a lot to offer for experienced climbers. It's just as beautiful as the Tatras can be, have an interesting history (f.e. it was called in the past Franz Josef Spitze and Stalin's Peak) but suffers a bit form the title of "the highest" making it a bit overcrowded mountain with a lot of hikers held on the ropes by their guides (I don't advise going alone. First: it's illegal unless you're climbing a technical route and Second: mountain is very big with complicated topography, dangerous and easy to get lost). The best options both for beginner tourists and experienced climbers is to choose different, lesser known mountains around. they will be just as beutiful, a lot of them even more and less crowded.
