A huge private temple with lot of architectures. A must visit temple and it is one of the 108 Vaishnava Divyadesam. Neatly maintained.

One should plan to visit this temple in the evening as the darshan may be closed for some time due to the daily abhishekam.

An important temple for all pilgrims. The gopuram itself is so adorable to watch.

You need to take a cab from Tirunelveli

One of the most visited Vishnu Divya Desam Temple near Tirunelveli in Tamil Nadu. Very clean and neatly maintained. They sell the oil which was used for Abhiseham for Perumal. It is believed if used on pain on joints it relieves the pain. So make sure to buy it. A small bottle today's rate is INR 30/-. This temple is also called Vanamamalai Temple. Gents has to remove their shirts to go inside.

This temple has beautiful sculptures of old extinct animal (Yazli). Also has special oil pool where all abishekam oils pour in to it. It is one of Lord Vishnu's 108 Divyaprabhandams. Plan for it on the way to Kalakkad. Easily reachable via road as well as railway station.

Beautiful Stone Architecture of the Pandya and cholas. An arch welcomes you with lovely sculptures all around as you walk to the main sanctum. The place is famous as a Divyaprabhandam shetram. By road the place is about 40km from Tirunelveli connected from NH towards Nanguneri on SH 89. The lord with sridevi and bhoodevi looks sacred. The place is called Swyambu. The place is surrounded by 4 lakes. Summer has it dry and good time to visit would be september-january when the weather is cooler. Chtirai is a festivity.
The beauty of south indian pooja and culture is reflected in the place. The temple needs financial support to attract more tourists and development is required. Temples like Tirupathi should allocate funds for development of Divyaprabhandam temples like Tirumala and Tirupathi

We went to visit this temple in April 2016. There is very less guidance but everyone there is behind money. They misguide you a lot. I see lot of people fighting with batters there. If you want to see yennai/oil abishegam. Be there at the temple at 7:30 AM. don't move anywhere until u see the archanai. They ask you to go to see ennai kinaru/well. By the time you come back, all poojas will be over. So don't listen to anyone there.

Don't waste your money inside the temple. Everyone walking around will ask for money. don't get cheated. Put money in aarathi thattu and put money in hundiyal. Atleast it goes to the temple. The rest all are acting like beggars. Beware

After visiting Madurai on the way back to Trivandrum visited this temple. Just 3 kms detour from the NH7. Very big temple and right now renovation works are going on under the aegis of TVS Group. In fact, they are the one who maintains most of the Nava tirupathi-set of 9 temples under teh 108 vaishnavite shrines in Tirunelveli district.

We had a nice darshan and a priest explained with the significance of the temple and the ritual of collecting the oil which was used for the deity etc. Worth visiting.
