An absolute gem which shines a light on Bromsgrove, its industries and its people. Fascinating insight into the history and life of a midlands town. The volunteer staff were both very helpful and enthusiastic . One not to miss.

Excellent museum with so much to see and do. It's only £5 entry and the friendly volunteers provided plenty of information and even started our visit off with a guided tour.
There’s much more to this museum than meets the eye. The beautiful shop fronts with hand-written signage are based on original shops from the history of the town and are packed with original items and details, making for a really evocative visit. There’s also a lot of information about local trades - salt, button making, glass making, etc, as well as local businesses such as Harris and Garringtons. I particularly enjoyed finding out about the medieval manor of Bromsgrove and seeing pieces displayed by the Bromsgrove Guild.
It’s even suitable for children, with activity sheets of things to spot, etc. This place is a credit to the town and a fantastic place to visit.

Great little museum with lots of local interest. As a historian and from bromsgrove this is a nice couple of hours to browse. Volunteers are very friendly and knowledgeable of the exhibits. Nice to see some of my families history with nail making.

91 yr old Mr Norton, who if often there, collected pieces from local trades since he was 15. He has built replicas of the local shops and everything is displayed inside these. It’s only £5 for adults. Kids are free.
It’s really amazing! The amount and variety of the things that he’s collected.
Mr Norton showed us around. The stories behind his collection were fascinating.
The kids enjoyed it. I would highly recommend it.

Since moving to Bromsgrove a good few years ago, we've walked past this museum many times but it was only after seeing a good review on social media we decided to pay a visit. We were greeted with a warm welcome by two lovely volunteers and given a brief introduction. Learning about the Bromsgrove Guild was particularly interesting.
The museum is the result of one man's lifelong passion for collecting and preserving Bromsgrove's historical artefacts. Mr Norton grew up in an orphanage in Bromsgrove and had a keen interest for bettering his community from an early age.
We were just about to head back downstairs when one of the volunteers pops up and tells us Dennis Norton is here and would like to meet us! What an honour to meet the man himself! "Which item or items are your favourite Dennis?" I asked. "I like them all" he said. "They wouldn't be here otherwise". Wonderful stuff.

Having noticed the museum when walking past we brought our parents along with us for a visit.
We were warmly greeted by the volunteers on duty and shown round.
I cannot praise this museum highly enough everyone is very friendly and helpful and everything kept in excellent order. The information and items on display far exceed what you would expect from looking at the outside of the building, as they describe it, it is very Tardis like. We enjoyed our visit tremendously.

This museum is about the trades of bromsgrove and is very interesting, the museum looks small from the outside but is much larger on the inside, you need to allow one to one and a half hours to look around.
