I gained very valuable advice and had a great experience in the sim with Andy in the A320. I flew in different conditions and in various airports. Learning and flying an approach at Hong Kong's famous old Kai Tak airport was very cool with Andy's guidance.

Incredible experience that I will never forget. The simulator was brilliant, but having access to such a friendly and knowledgeable ex-pilot for the day was the highlight of the day. I can't recommend this experience and this venue more highly.

FSM helped me prepare for my airline simulator assessment.
Kind, knowledgeable instructors with excellent simulators.
Would highly recommend for any airline simulator preparation, especially for Wizz Air.

So this was my 8th visit to FSM. Didn’t know the founder Captain Chris had retired and if you read these comments Chris you setup a great company and best wishes in your retirement.
Nice friendly greeting at reception and soon Captain Sarah asked me what I would like to do on this flight in the A320. Sarah was really accommodating when I asked to fly from La Guardia New York to JFK during the evening So I could experience the City whilst the light was fading.
Good briefing by Sarah and I did the take off followed by a low pass over NY City. Then we followed the Hudson and flew under the Versailles bridge. Sarah then took time to explain the TCAS system and demonstrated how the aircraft would act if on a conflicting course with another aircraft. Lots of hands on flying for me aided by the flight director and then onto the curved Canarsie approach into JFK.
Sarah is a brilliant instructor who took time to explain everything we were doing and let me operate all of the flying controls from take off to landing.
If you have any interest in aviation this really is a challenging enjoyable experience and also would make a great gift for someone.
My flights have always been gifted by my daughters and it’s for the 30 mins briefing followed by the 30 min flight. It really is worth considering the 90 mins which gives you 60 mins flight as you can do much more and get a better feel for the aircraft.
All the instructors have great stories to tell about their aviation careers and it’s great to hear them and it’s all part of the experience you will have.
Steve thank you for your welcome and the new layout is very impressive and professional looking. Please recognise my comments about Sarah who is a real credit to the company and people like that ensure many of us keep returning.
See you next time.
Regards, Martin

Had the most amazing time at FSM Coventry! From the moment I entered the premises, Sarah looked after me and guided me through every step of the simulator. I chose the Boeing 737 and the full motion really was brilliant.
Also, as it is situated next door to the Air Museum and an active runway strip, the views of surrounding planes and aviation ‘stuff’ was an added bonus.
All in all a fantastic time had and I have already booked another slot for a future date. Thank you!

Having a keen interest in aviation I decided to fly the Airbus 320 simulator, since I'd already did the Boeing 737 simulator a while back.
The simulator itself is a real cockpit, cut from a decommissioned aircraft and fitted with all the controls to mimic the A320 like for like. This simulator is not on hydraulics though (what would be classed as a Category D simulator which costs £900 per hour and what is used by airlines to train their pilots) so it doesn't move, but you do get the feeling that you are in a real aircraft. Even the sounds / noises are realistic, from the engine roar, fuel flow and landing gear movement. The graphics are due for an upgrade which Andy said will be happening in a few weeks.
Andy Lee was my captain in the left seat and was the co-pilot in the right seat. I was the pilot flying and Andy was the pilot monitoring. Andy explained the controls and allowed me to taxi the A320 to the runway, apply thrust and rotate to take off as well as set the flaps and speed and use the ILS system for the landing approach at several airports including Madeira and Heathrow and the disused Kai Tak airport in Hong Kong. We also did a mid-air collision avoidance scenario too and an engine fire scenario from and to Heathrow airport. Andy managed to squeeze in a landing and takeoff from Paro airport in Bhutan (world's most dangerous landing)!
I was in there for 2 hours and wouldn't recommend anything less since the time just flies by (no pun intended).
Great afternoon. Recommended for people who have an interest in aviation or are interested in pursuing a career as a commercial airline pilot or for people taking their PPL and want to know more about commercial flying.
I booked the Boeing 747 simulator too since I would have all 3 simulators under my belt for a discounted price. Looking forward to coming back to take control of the jumbo jet as co-pilot!

Thank you so much for your review! We are delighted you enjoyed your visit and are looking forward to seeing you again for your next adventure in our Boeing 747 Jumbo simulator!
There is just one thing we would like to point out that is inaccurate on your review, our Airbus A320 sim which you flew is a motion simulator. If you remember, we did not use the motion on the day you visited, as your Mum was concerned about whether it might make her feel motion sick.
Because of that, the motion was not used during your visit. Perhaps next time, if your Mum is ok with it, we can turn the motion on and you will feel the difference!!
Thanks again for being a valued customer and for taking the time to post a review. We really appreciate it.
Best wishes. Steve. Public Relations Manager

hi Captain Chris,
I'm a (lapsed) PPL and I was just wondering if it is possible to spend the time doing simulated touch and goes at Coventry (or wherever..., Gatwick..?) rather than La Guardia to Orlando. (737 simulator).
thanks
Mark

No problem. You'll need to get to know how to fly the 737 first but then as many T&G's as you wish. - Captain Chris

Does the 737 or airbus simulator actually move? Does it actually feel like your taking off etc
Feita em 19 de novembro de 2018
The 737 and A320 move in pitch which is all that an aircraft does. The 747 is static but the visual screen is very large and fools the brain into thinking it is moving. Most people can't believe they weren't moving when they come out. - Captain Chris

Can my 13 yr old do this experience x
Feita em 20 de setembro de 2018
Hi Paul. 13 is fine if he has already had some experience on a flight simulator programme on his computer. Ideally he needs to be 5 foot tall to reach the pedals but it's not essential as you only use them on take off. Any other questions, please ring us on 0800 999 7370

Looking to make a booking for my 50th Birthday. Can't decide on Full Motion 737 or static 747! Can anyone please advise on their experience if flown both. Cheers
Feita em 24 de janeiro de 2017
Hi there. The motion on the 737 and A320 is excellent but the graphics on the 747 are more impressive as it uses a wrap around cinema screen which is better for observers in the flight deck. Coupled with the vibration generator, you will really think you are flying. Tough choice but then you could always come back and fly all 3. You kind of get hooked! -- Captain Chris \rigby

Has anyone with a fear of flying conquered it by flying the simulator?
Feita em 22 de janeiro de 2017
Probably not. You really need the course that we run which has a short simulator trip at the end. - Chris

I had a one hour Boeing 737 as one of my Christmas presents. My co-pilot David was first class at instructing me during my flight. We flew from Malaga to Gibraltar and this was as close to the real thing as you will get!
Feita em 23 de abril de 2016
Hi There, I've flown a full motion A320 simulator (1 hour) at the CAE flight training centre in Gatwick. Although this was some time ago, I'm looking to expand on what I learnt. I then went on to fly a PA-28 for real some weeks later (a very different experience altogether). Could you tell me a little more about your simulators please? i.e. full motion? real cockpits and controls?
Thanks in advance.
Feita em 16 de março de 2016
Morning. Our 320 simulator is the actual nose of G-BUSF back engineered into a simulator. The motion system is in pitch which is the only movement you would normally feel in an aircraft. I think if you read the reviews we have on TA, you will see everyone has had a fantastic experience with us and we do train professional pilots to be ready for interview assessments on this machine. We have a current BA training captain who flies for us occasionally and he is very impressed with it. We are also less than half the price from other motion simulators in the UK. So - look forward to seeing you - Captain Chris Rigby
