Bu-Ali-Shah Kalandar was a saint born in 1190 A.D. whose actual name was Shaykh Sharfuddin. These people do not beg for anything, but survive on whatever is voluntarily offered by their admirers or devotees. Located at Qalandar Chowk, architecture of this tomb matches Ajmer Dargah & Hazrat Nizamuddin Dargah Delhi. The 700-year-old tomb was built by Khizir Khan and Shadi Khan, sons of Ala-ud-din Khilji. This tomb is thronged annually in the famous festival of Urs by devotees of all classes and religions. The tomb also houses the grave of the famous Urdu poet, Khwaja Altaf Hussain Hali Panipati.

A nice and very old historical place in panipat.Bu Ali Shah Qalandar. Shaikh Sharafuddeen Bu Ali Qalandar Panipati also called Bu Ali Qalandar (1209-1324 CE probably born at Panipat, Haryana) in India was a Sufi saint of the Chishtī Order who lived and taught in India. His dargah (mausoleum) in the town of Panipat is a place of pilgrimage

In early 1209 century, a son was born to Hafiza Jamal who was wife of Shaikh Fakhar Uddin was a great scholar of that period. This son got the name Shaikh Sharfuddin and later he got the title Bu Ali Shah. He was a great spiritual teacher and renowned Sufi Saint. His birthplace is controversial either in the Panipat or in the Azerbaijan but he had lot of followers. He is considered to be the descendant of Numan Ibn Sabit and great scholar Imam Abu Hanifa. His works and teachings are followed till today. And his Holy Shrine which was constructed by Mahabat Khan who was a General in the Army of Emperor Jahangir and this area is popularly known as Qalandari Chauk. Dargah of Bu Ali Shah Qalandar is visited everyday by followers who are not discriminated especially on Thursdays and at the time of Urs-E-Mubarak which is celebrated annually. He left this world in 1324 century. Complete environment remain divinely. My sincere homage to this great Sufi Saint and Spiritual teacher's shrine provided this unique opportunity to observe the Communal Harmony among all the communities. Just adjacent to the holy shrine tomb of Mahabat Khan and famous poet Altaf Husain Hali etc are situated which is quite spectacular from the architectural point of view.
