A beautiful temple housing Goddess Mahalasa Narayani. This is not a touristy place but a very important and sacred place for Hindus. The huge brass lamp is a sight to see. Modest dressing is advisable.

Sunday evenings have a special service.

One of the most visited temples in Goa
nov de 2018 • A negócios
Had visited this Hindu temple in Mardol a long back ago. This temple is visited by local devotees and is a popular tourist attraction.

Dedicated to Goddess Mahalsa, this Hindu temple has an ornate gateway at its entrance. Upon entering the gateway, had seen a towering Deepmala as well as a tall brass lamp next to it. Had to remove the footwear before entering the temple. Its facade is ornately carved and is adorned with carvings of the Goddess flanked by celestial nymphs. The outer sanctum is adorned with chandeliers as well as supporting pillars. Upon entering the inner sanctum, had seen many local devotees offering prayers to an idol of Goddess Mahalsa.

Inside the temple complex, there is a Rath (Chariot) that is used during the Magha Jatra (festival). Also, there is an artificial pond that is used for ritual bathing and immersion of idols. Foreigners are not allowed inside the sanctum sanctorum. There is a canteen that is run by workers. However, a code of conduct should be maintained. Avoid wearing sleeveless outfits.

This Hindu temple is an ideal place of worship for those who would like to seek blessings. It is a must visit and should not be missed while in Mardol.
