Why would a book shop close for the season? We aren't sure. Aren't folks more likely to read in the colder months when tucked inside? We drove from Blomidon to visit the bookstore and were greeted by a closed for season sign. We called ahead and the voice machine said to leave a message. Nothing in the phone greeting mentioned that the store was closed until spring 2020. We walked through Digby and had a wonderful lunch. Sadly, a number of empty storefronts populate the main drag.

An unbelievable place: the whole house is a book shop. 2 stories full of stories. Chairs everywhere. Well signed. Theory and ficton well stocked. Wonderful atmosphere. Lock me in there for some weeks - there would never be a dull moment!

...in their house! Every room had tons of books. Needless to say, the cookbooks were in the kitchen.
Bernice was great to spend time chatting with; a nice bonus.
We didn't have a lot of time, but I could have spend a few days there.

This is a great place to spend an hour while you're waiting for your world-famous Digby scallops. The two story book store is well organized, and the pleasant owner is helpful but not intrusive,
