Très belle visite
out de 2019

Great View
set de 2016 • A sós
This is the only section of the Great Wall that crosses a river. It's beautiful and set in the mountains. One section is closed off to tourists as it hasn't been rebuilt. The other side is very steep and the steps are irregular, but you can climb it.

I took a taxi from the street near the Shanhaiguan Railway Station and it took about 35 minutes and cost around 40 rmb. I only had about 45 minutes to walk around the site because I had to catch my train, but it was well worth the visit. It's a very unique spot and not a lot of tourists. If pressed for time, I would skip the "First Pass Under Heaven" and check this out instead.

Great Wall with restored and unrestored sections
fev de 2016 • Família
We visited in February just before Chinese New Year, so we were lucky and got this part of Great Wall almost for ourselves.
I would recommend to visit this part of the wall, it will give you the chance to see not only the only bridge in the great wall but also excellent restored as well as some unrestored sections of the wall.
Entrance fees was 60 RMB / person (winter season), should be 80 RMB / person during summer time (prices as per February 2016).
I can't say anything about catering, food etc since all had been closed during winter season.

abr de 2015 • Amigos

A Superb section of restored wall
ago de 2015 • Casais
It is a little out of the way, and there is no public transport to get there, but worth the trip. It is basically a bridge section with a restored section heading from the river up the mountain. The wall was easy to walk and the view fantastic. There is also an elaborate Tunnel system built during the Ming Dynasty that is worth the walk. I strongly reccommend having someone with you who is fluent in Mandarin. We negotiated with a local man who hired out his 3 wheeled car and droves us the 40 minute trip from the Shanhaiguan Pass section of the Great wall and then waited 3 hours for us whilst we looked about. An Awesome experience!

Beautilfull spot

ago de 2012

Worth the day trip
mai de 2013
The site is very beautiful. Not many tourist (Chinese or foreigners). After going to Mutianyu it's a much smaller portion of the wall but because there isn't many tourist worth our climb. Cost 80RMB each (more expensive than Mutianyu 45 RMB).
As you are there you should include a trip to the Old Dragon Head, where the Great Wall ends in the sea.

We took the 7am fast train from Beijing and got there at 930 AM.
At the train station you will be swamped by taxi, tours wanting to bring you to the City wall, Jiumenkou and or Old Dragon head.
Advise; take the taxi by meter as we payed 188RMB for a return trip plus for the Old Dragon Head. Taxi by meter from train station to Jiumenkou is only about 40RMB. And there are taxis at the entrance to take you back.

If you are going to go for a day trip it's worth doing the Jiumenkou, Old Dragon Head and City Wall.

We took the fast train back to Beijing at around 730 PM
