Lovely tour guide on arrival, who made us feel very welcome and told us enough but did not overload us with to much information.

Enjoyable 45 minutes. Well worth the £2 entry fee. A must see when visiting Walton on the Naze.

We wandered in on spec shortly before closing time on an overcast Saturday afternoon. What a pleasure! A mixed bag of Walton’s maritime, social and even paleontological history was on display, hosted today by Josie Close, who was so knowledgeable and interesting, we stayed well after she should have closed up. Thoroughly fascinating. Thank you Josie.

Excellent time everyone enjoyed it. The heritage centre has a cafe and it is all very good. The surrounding area has the famous Tower which also provides refreshments anc it all sits on the cliffs which leads to the sea as well as a nature area.

This little museum is just across from the beach on the East Terrace of Walton on the Naze, it has so much to offer in such a small building, the staff are great, always willing to answer your questions, There is limited car parking adjacent to the museum, better to park in the Bath House Meadow and walk. A donation allows you entry.

Although this is a small museum it is full of interesting things, we try to visit it once a year and always find the volunteers who staff very knowledgeable. Exhibits often change with subjects of the town as well as the maritime.
I believe they ask for a donation

It's a while since I visited this museum, in fact I think the James Stevens was still in it last time I went along.
Many interesting exhibits and stories. The Breeches Bouy caused s bit of a stir leading to us Googling it to see who invented it. The Volunteers in there were most helpful and eager to listen to my stories, passed donw from my family who were Waltonians. A very special day for me as my Grandfather and his brother arrived in Walton building the railway which is celebrating 150 years this year. They married local girls and settled here, contibuting to the community as Fire Chief, Lifeboatman and Special Constable.
This Museum is part of the Frinton and Walton Heritage Trust and as soon as I can I will put together some information about my family for them
