Early May visit had plenty of gorgeous autumn colours. Entrance to gardens is via the souvenir shop and a locked gate. Pay the entrance fee, you are given a map and gate opened. Main garden is a stunning garden of autumn colours, hedges, trees and lake with birdsong and plenty of space for everyone. Recommend visiting this garden but don’t bother with the cafe. Service very slow and scones just ok.

Very nice gardens, spent about 1 hour walking through the gardens. Waterfall is great. Lots of paths so it easy to miss parts of the garden, if you visit, take your time and explore every path.

When you arrive the staff are super friendly and explain what each section of the garden is on the map. There is an entry fee of $10. The gardens themselves are lovely and peaceful, my favourite being the waterfall section.

Following the signage and down a well paved road, one finds the Wildwood gardens. Massive range of gorgeous camellias!

You have no idea what to expect when you drive through the gates of Wildwood. After you park your car you can either enter the nursery or walk upstairs to the Tea Room. We decided to have lunch before embarking on the garden walk. The menu while not huge had almost everything you could ask for and it was all served promptly, was very tasty, they make a mean coffee, and is reasonably priced. We were ready then to walk through the nursery which contains a vast number of plants with possibly every form of salvia in existance. As well as salvia there are camellia's, azalea's, violets, wind flowers, weeping cherry, fig's, assorted ground covers and many, many more. If you are able to drag yourself away from the plants you enter the the gift shop, which is more like Aladins cave and has everything. Beautiful clothing, hats, scarves, wraps, linnen, bone china cups, plates and teapots, garden ornaments, coasters, jewelry, wind chimes, wall art and there was even a saddle. We were told by the owners to leave our purchases at the cash register and pay for it all together after we had seen the gardens. They are a very friendly and obliging couple. We were handed a map and we headed into the garden. What a picture it is with something to see in every direction. There are themed gardens with gnomes and dragons, water falls and seats here and there if you are needing a rest. We walked to top of the gardens and sat enjoying the bell birds and watched little birds flitting around the various garden beds. We checked the map again and set off for a closer or second look at some of the areas we had enjoyed the most, then we headed back to the nursery and gift shop for a thorough inspection. I was able to find a camellia I had been unable to buy anywhere else, as well as a few plants not readily available at the local nursery. Finally it was time to pay and be on our way. What a wonderful place, and a great way to spend the day. We will be back for sure.

My fiancé and I visited this private garden recently in our weekend trip to the Mountains. A very beautiful and well-kept garden. I really love how different parts of the garden are designed. The garden charges a small entry fee but it is definitely worth it. I'd recommend this garden to anyone who is visiting in the area. You won't be disappointed!

We visited Wildwood after visiting the Botanic Garden in Mount Tomah. Started over 30 years ago by Wayne ans Sue, the gardens reflect a labour of dedication and love. Highlights of the gardens when we visited in March were the stunning range of salvia's, quirky fairy and dragon bowers and the ponds, waterfalls and lakes.

Wildwood also offers an eclectic range of gifts from the gift-shop; a nursery offering a wide range of plats (including salvia's!!); and tea rooms.

Wayne and Sue were very hospitable and very knowledgeable - we learned a lot!

These gardens are well worth visiting at any time of the year - strongly recommended!

Before I left for our weekend in Bilpin I researched ideas and this came up. Nothing prepared us for how utterly beautiful these gardens are. And that is the day after we saw the Blue Mountains Botanical Gardens. I would suggest to the very clever and friendly owners that their signs on the main road need photos. I didn't take any photos myself unfortunately, but I'll be back. They will close after the June long weekend until August when they open again for the camellia festival.
The waterfall, the pond, the manicured, semi-formal circular garden, the seats placed in strategic places, the rose garden, camellia garden, etc, etc., (there is about 25 acres after all) still didn't prepare us for the Fairy Garden. Honestly, it is nearly beyond words. It is so very clever and clustered and cluttered with amazing little sculptures of gargoyles, toadstools, dragons, wizards, fairies (only a few), the devil's walk. It is obviously a labour of love and we did love it. I have to take my granddaughter when she is a bit older. It is magic and that is not to take away from the rest of the garden.
They do sell plants and lots of lovely ornaments, many for your own garden. There is a cafe but we didn't try it because we were on the move.
If you have any time call in next time you are in the neighbourbood. Entry for aduts is $10.00, $8.00 for seniors.

Stopped here today for morning tea, $20 for 2 two teas , 2 scones each with a small amount of jam and cream . Very nice , although scones were store bought, but huge . We could have wandered the gardens for $10 each but decided not too.

Five of us had lunch and I purchased a $60 bird feeder however was still made to feel like a criminal to use toilet. My dad who has difficulty breathing was asked to bring docket from upstairs cafe to use toilet located downstairs. The male owner is super friendly however I can give NO compliments to the two women. I understand the concerns with tank water as I also am on tank water however making the toilet only available to people spending money will only ensure you NEVER get them as potential customers another time. NOT a good business model.
