Our experience with Valencia Travel was fantastic. They did a great job coordinating the trip, and worked with us through the pandemic with multiple changes and cancellations. They were prompt in responding, and always willing to help.

The trek on the Inca Trail was amazing. Excellent food and the accommodations were perfect. Our tour guide Fredy was also wonderful. He was kind, patient, and showed us an amazing experience.

Everything was excellent from day 1 since we booked the tour. Vivian was extremely helpful and responsive. Despite a few hiccups from our end, Valencia travel was very accommodating to our plans. I’m so thankful that they didn’t cancel the trip since only me and my friend were in the group. With that said, we had the full service/ attention just for the two of us. 6 porters included the chef Gregorio and our amazing tour guide Nico. Gregorio was a talented chef, I couldn’t believe he could serve appetizers, main courses and even desserts in such a small tent. The foods was delicious and the service was like a fine dinning from how they folded the napkins to serving foods. My favorite was the chicken curry. The portion was huge to me. But to be honest, i cared less about foods, i cared more about the vibes ,the energy. They all worked so hard, so so hard. It broke my heart seeing them carrying all the equipments to set up the kitchen/ sleeping tents for us. But at the end of the day, they all looked so energetic and happy. That was the most important to me. I felt happier seeing them laughing still after a hard working day.
Least but not last, our tour guide Nico was very attentive, informative and knowledgeable. I have learned a lot from this trip. Thanks for translating and connecting us with the porters on a deep personal level. The night we celebrated xmas and Gregorio’s birthday will be one of the best moments of my life.

Valencia people took great care of us the whole time. Guido was our guide for the 4-day Inca Trail. Great guy with lots of stories. Love the Cusco area and could have spent one more week there. Great time to visit Machu Picchu/Cusco while COVID scares crowds away.

If you’re thinking about hiking the Inca Trail, I strongly encourage you to book with Valencia Travel. Our 4-person group hiked with Valencia in mid-October 2021, and it was truly the trip of a lifetime for us. We were so impressed by their professionalism and attention to detail. Our porter team, led by friendly Climaco, was fantastic - a happy, collegial group who were also so attentive to us. It's an amazing thing to come into camp at the end of a very tough hike, and find your sweet porters clapping for you (after passing you by on the trail with smiles, as they carry their heavy loads), and so focused on your needs, with hot water for cleanup, toilet and shower tents all set up, and even a tasty beer to celebrate your hard work! Having seen other groups on the trail, we really thought our team was a standout - they were well-geared by Valencia and friendly. We were also so impressed with the food on our trip, which was far above our expectations of camping. It started with presentation - can you believe being served on real ceramic plates, with real silverware, and sweetly folded napkins at every meal? Our chef Gregorio turned out wonderful offerings. We had tasty soups every day, followed by yummy and varied entrees and sides, topped off with a nice sweet (and even a big cake on our last night!). They're prepared to serve you huge portions too (we had to keep saying smaller, smaller!), so you definitely won't ever be hungry. Perhaps most important of all, our guide Jose Baca was truly fantastic. He has a very good sense of his hikers' needs and preferences - he knows when to step in with directions and guidance, and when to lag back and let the group lead. Jose's English is very good, so we had the opportunity to learn a lot on our trip, not just about the trail and what is (and isn't) known about Incan civilization, but also about Peruvian life in general, like the country's and Jose's own experiences in the worst of the Covid pandemic. I'm sure Valencia has many expert and friendly guides, but you might want to try asking for Jose to lead your group - you won't be disappointed. As an FYI, we booked the "luxury/premium" version of the 7-day trail trip from Valencia. It was still a very reasonable price, and you then automatically get all the upgrades you might want (mattress pad/etc/etc), plus we were booked in Cusco at the Aranwa hotel, which is outstanding and extremely well-located. You should definitely consider just opting for the premium package to make life easier. And now one final note: the Inca Trail is tough. We were a group of mostly late-50-somethings, with one 66-year-old. Most of the folks on the trail are in their 20s-30s-40s. We were all in pretty good shape, having worked concertedly and daily for months to prepare. We all agreed it was the toughest thing we had done in our lives. Read up in advance about the best workout regime to prepare and make sure you're ready for this challenge. I'd be happy to respond to any direct messages about the trip, trail and Valencia. Highly recommend!

Amazing trip from start to finish. Valencia was great and ran the trip flawlessly. Our guide Guillermo was wonderful as were the porters and chef (Pedro). Guillermo was caring and very knowledgeable and catered to everyone’s needs. We were fortunate to have a smaller group. The equipment - tents, poles, sleeping bag, pad - were of high quality

The trail was challenging at times so recommend one be in decent shape and acclimate before attempting. The second day on the trail was most difficult and hit higher altitudes (about 13,700+ feet).

Cecilia in the office made all the arrangements and answered all our pre-travel questions. Miguel picked us up and dropped us off at the airport and got us oriented in Cusco.

Overall a trip of a lifetime and would highly recommend Valencia - they made us feel at ease so we could focus on taking in the experience.

Thank you, Valencia!! What a wonderful experience! The Inca trail was a personal challenge and a rewarding trek. Valencia made this dream a reality for me and I am so grateful. Thank you to Alex our guide who taught us and encouraged us with his enthusiasm, Cecilia who emailed with me for over a year due to pandemic-related delays, Gregorio the chef extraordinaire, Maximo, Elterrio and the other porters!! I cannot say enough good things about Valencia and the experience I had. I am over 50 and went with a friend of similar age. We both were so happy to experience this trek. Alex is a very experienced, encouraging, knowledgeable guide, a wonderful conversationalist, and overall an excellent person. This was a dream realized and again thank you to Alex, Cecilia, and everyone at Valencia.

From the time we booked this trip in February right up until the day we arrived in Cusco the communication was always prompt and helpful. We added an extra day to our trip that needed two more hotel rooms, hired an extra porter, and had passport renewals that all needed handling and right from the get go I knew we chose the right company based on how well they handled these extras.

Both our pick up and drop off at the airport were right on schedule, easy to find and it was great to be greeted by a friendly faces as soon as we arrived in Peru. Miguel was very helpful in getting us acquainted with the city on our way to the hotel.

The trip itself was amazing beyond belief and exceeded all my expectations, (and I had many as I researched extensively prior to booking and travel).
We had a large group of 18, and so we had three guides; Claudio, Rolando, and Oskar. Our guides definitely were one of the highlights of the trip. Yes, the views are breathtaking, yes, the hike was both challenging and fun, but without our amazing guides it just wouldn’t have been the same. We had opportunities to get to know them each during our time with them on the trail and they were just great people to be with and to get to know. Claudio, who was our lead guide, was so passionate about teaching us the history of his ancestors that you just couldn’t help but to feel passionate about it too. Oskar was hilarious and kept us belly laughing throughout the whole trip. As one of the slower hikers in our group I never felt rushed and our guides were always supportive to get us through the toughest parts. Another amazing thing was that they were all great about was taking pictures for and of the group. They never seemed burdened by being handed at least 15 different cell phones so we all could get a photo. You rarely had to ask them to take a photo for you as they would offer and help make sure we got the best shot possible.

Our provided gear such as tents, mattress pads, the dining tent, and even the portable camp toilet were all well maintained. We had rain our entire second day and night and we woke up completely dry.

The food was one of a few reasons I booked through Valencia and it did not disappoint. Each meal had 3-4 courses of nutritious and delicious food that hit the spot after our long days on the trail and even little things like having snacks prepared for us daily to take on the hikes and “tentside coffee and hot chocolate” really made the early mornings and long days easier. Our chef, Wilfredo made a cake to help us celebrate a big milestone birthday. Not only was the cake delicious but it’s just amazing to think that it’s being made at altitude, in a tent.

And lastly but certainly not least were the amazing porters. Again because of our large group we also has a large porter contingent at 28 individuals. The number one reason we chose Valencia is because they promise to take good care of their porters and I really believe it shows. Each of our guys had new looking hiking boots (that we were told are replaced every 5 months), had ponchos during the rain, and had fresh uniforms that we saw them change regularly, often replacing a sweaty shirt at lunch with a fresh one for the second half of the day. Also our porters always traveled as a group, tearing down the trails like a small blue army. Not only was it an impressive sight but from a safety perspective it was good to know that should one of them get hurt during any of their runs at breakneck speed down the mountain that there would be help immediately. Many of the other porters we saw from other companies wore sandals without socks despite the cold temperatures in the rain, and traveled in small groups or even alone. The porters were respectful, and were always around to make sure we had everything we could need. Truly the trip would not be possible without these men.

With the exception of squat toilets in a couple of places, most of the stops we made and camps we stayed in had real flush toilets. The bathrooms were the only thing that brought you back to earth and reminded you that you weren’t actually glamping despite sleeping in a tent. While the toilets weren’t the most pleasant, we were grateful to have them at all being so far from any real civilization. Also having the portable camp toilet “for number 1 only!” that was only for our group was a nice perk. I would suggest for women in investing in a Go Girl or other female urinal.

In closing, we could not have been more happy in our decision to book through Valencia and are genuinely so so grateful for this amazing experience we were able to have thanks to them,

Valencia went out of their way to work with our group and its ever changing needs. They were responsive and flexible. We really appreciated that. Both of the guides we had on the trail, Rene and Aldo, were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The porters were kind and the cook was AMAZING! This is a wonderful trip, even with horrible altitude sickness. (Get there early to acclimate and take all the drugs!) Once in a lifetime experience!
