Our guide Aaron treated us to a wonderful day in Thorsmork. We drove through rivers (volcanic deltas really) in super jeep and we hiked near glaciers, volcanoes & waterfalls. Aaron was very familiar with plants and nature in Valley of Thor. We enjoyed hike to Husadalur through green valley. Our group was family ages 19-80. Aaron treated everyone in our group with care and attentiveness.

Very pleased.
The valley was wonderful! Guide was able to share many interesting stories.
I appreciated that the tour both drove us around the valley (which is not accessible to normal cars) and stopped so we'd be able to get out and hike at some locations.
They do have a minimum number of people they need to operate, but I was pleased that the vendor made it easy to re-book when I originally booked on a day where there were not enough people.

Even though with bad weather, this experience was memorable. Our expectations were very high and we were afraid they wouldn't be met, but the quality of the car, the route chosen and especially the atmosphere created by the guide, made it one of the best tours we've done. His knowledge of the terrain and driving experience allowed him to adapt the circuit to the day's weather and our expectations, making it fun, varied but always safe. We crossed deep rivers, saw idyllic landscapes, went on unforgettable walks and the announced 10 hours flew by. If I ever return (for the third time) to Iceland, this adventure will be one of the causes. Thanks to Thor (our friendly guide).

Total blast!
I took pretty much all possible day tours from Reykjavik, and this destination is by far the best. It's least crowded and most beautiful. Whole Thor valley is like a fairy-tale. Lush green hills, black riverbeds, murky white water of rivers, orange lichen, blue glaciers, yellow moss and plants.
Our main stops (each about an hour long) were Seljandsfoss and Gljufrabui, then one of the outlet glaciers and it's incredible valley, then at Basar base camp where we took nice walk on the hill surrounded by cutest islandic birch and spectacular views towards glacier. And final stop was out of this world canyon Stakkholtsgjá with extra special secret waterfall at the very end of it. We had to cross the river on foot to see beautiful waterfall placed in a crevice. We were absolutely alone there. That whole canyon is pretty empty.
This was it, we were on our way back.
Then, of course, our guide Einar was very lovely. He had some stories to tell but not too many. I felt like his focus was just on letting us be. And we appreciated it very much. With such beauty around it's good to just be.
He is an excellent driver, and generally superjeep ride was rather smooth. Take car sickness pill though if you are sensitive - there were some bumps.
If you are wondering if you should take it vs for example Glacier lagoon trip (I am thinking in terms of price) - this is the place to go. I am bamboozled why it's not more popular. It's an incredible place.
If you are wondering if you should take it vs Landmannalaugar - tough choice but I would take this still.

My 18yr old grandson and I thoroughly enjoyed the drive and sites throughout the day. The scenery is breathtaking and if it starts raining, wait 3 min and it will move through. Waterfalls, Game of Thrones filming spot, super Mercedes keep to get us through the gushing rivers…what more could we ask for?

We hired a superjeep day to Throsmork. We read it was an amazing place and we were really looking to discover it as well as enjoying the superjeep experience.
First of all, all the staff at Activity Iceland were super friendly and nice, and our 2 stars has nothing to do with them.
The trip was ok, but we didn't have any super jeep experience and we weren't able to see anything of the Thorsmork.
We assumed that a superjeep can go almost everywhere in Iceland. Specially if the trip is available during winter time. So we hired a superjeep excursion to the remote area of Thorsmork. We were suposed to cross glacier rivers and enter to a valley without roads.
Our surprised came when we got stuck just some meters out of the road. There was another company (superjeep) on the area, and they got stuck several times. So we had to wait for them to help geting out. After one hour of driving not even 1 km, the other car decided to turn around. And our guide decided that he doesn't want to be alone on the valley and also turn around.
Again, the guide was really nice, but we ended up paying for a superjeep activity in a remote area, but getting a typical south coast tour, that we could have done with a normal bus.
The guide took us to a nice beach nearby, yes, but apart from that, we only visit the two big waterfalls in the south, overcrowded of people.
We know that nature is nature, but one expect for a superjeep to be able to drive in severe conditions. And if not, better not to offer the activity during winter time.
Overall, nice day on the typical southern coast road, but no superjeep experience neither Thorsmork visit.

This tour was voted best day of our trip - even though it rained much of the day. We started our tour in Selfoss rather than Reykjavik and it turned out we were the only 5 people on the Jeep! While there were other people visiting some of the same sights we did, they did not look as happy as we were. That is because of Aron, our tour guide. He makes the short list of best tour guides we have experienced anywhere. The insights he provided, the sights he showed us, the luxury ride of the vehicle - all of these things contributed to the great experience. We have not one regret spending one whole day on this excursion. When you make your reservation, tell them you want to be on TEAM ARON.

We did the Thorsmork Super Jeep tour on June 17th 2022, and had a fantastic time! The day was well paced and we got to see a lot. Each stop that we made had something beautiful and fun to see. This was our first full day in Iceland and a great way to kick off our trip. Our guide was excellent! He made sure that we all got to see things that we were interested in. And also made sure we got through the river crossings on the final hike. I loved the feeling of really being out in nature. We got to climb on rocks, go on hikes, enter caves, cross streams, and more. What an excellent day! Highly recommend!

Our family had a phenomenal day trip with Bjarki touring the Valley of Thor. Bjarki was knowledgeable about the history and culture of Iceland and the areas visited. He carefully matched the activities to our interests and abilities. The beauty of the area is unmatched. It was such fun and we can not wait to return for another visit. Would highly recommend!
